I think if they wanted to be in Toronto they would have chosen it for their vacation.

Vancouver is better because the WEATHER is better in western Canada, its closer to L.A. with Doria, its also closer to Meghan's contacts in Hollywood as well as her business manager/lawyers etc.

Jessica already came out to visit over Christmas - I'm sure she wouldn't mind doing extensive stays with her kids.

Also BTW Vancouver is worlds prettier than Toronto

If I had to chose I'm picking Vancouver (which gives me San Francisco/Seattle vibes) over Toronto (more NYC/Chicago vibes).

Lol at Doria. Like that matters. And having a friend 3 time zones away is not the same as local.

To people with private jet access it is.

Yep. That’s the first thing that jumped out for me

Because that's what the Queen declared. Hello - did you read the statement? And Meghan's in Vancouver right now waiting for Harry so that's where they want to be.

Well THEY are the the ones that said North America, not me. It was obviously undecided until today.

Exactly.

Here's my guess as to how it will work:
Main residence and schooling for Archie: Canada (40% of their time)
Major Royal duties: UK (20% of the time)
Hustling for money: US (20% of the time)
Travel abroad, either for Royal duties or work: 20% of the time

Don’t forget all the royal vacations. This is not specific to them. They all seem to take off most of summer and a long time at Christmas.

I will assume that they will cut back a bit on this in the first few years. As people of pride, they need to a public proving of their "independence." Further, if they are truly working then it will cut into the vacation schedule. I'd assume two weeks at Christmas/NYE and probably 3 weeks during the summer. And then shorter visits for other holidays (Easter, Queen's birthday, etc).

Note that she personalized them with their NAMES and not their titles. She lower cased the "f" in family and upper cased it in stating they are leaving the Royal Family.
The shade the English use is amazing. Sorry Megs. You chose the wrong suitcase.

Subtext is de rigeur for the British and no one does it better than the Queen. We love you, you are part of the family, but you are out of the family business.

But she did say "the Sussexes".

The Queen is not making a repeat of what happened to Diana. People blamed her and still do. The Sussexes, as their title, are going to be well taken care of and will retain their Duke and Duchess of Sussex designation.

The title was never in question. It's for life. It's always for life absent treason.

What could have been up for grabs was the designation (royal highness etc). That was the issue with Diana. She lost HRH because she was no longer wife of the prince of wales, but convention allowed her to continue calling herself Diana, Princess of Wales (The same convention is used for any titles in the UK by the divorced wife).

Yeah, but Diana was a divorcee and Charles was petty.

Harry is the son of the King for life. I can't imagine a world where that HRH would be taken away especially when Andrew gets to keep his.

She will definitely lose it when they split.

Yes, keep predicting a split. You'd love to see it.

Or Australian Margot Robbie! She's so perfect. Looks like a princess.

Mmm... you mean she is white, while as the Black biracial Meghan does not....

Np- I don’t find the woman posted above attractive at all.

The PP does. She is white and blonde. Hence she looks like a princess. PP thinks she is also an A lister.

Even in a private jet it’s a 4-5 hour flight. It’s not popping over for coffee. She has few friends. You think she’d want to be near someone she knows. But I don’t get her at all so...

With glee. Please give one example she has stuck with something that was hard.

She’s basically Wallis Simpsoned herself, best case scenario. Worst case - Fergie’d herself.

They are barely going to work at all. They will take small easy jobs (like voice overs and slapping their name on stuff) and show up at premieres and sporting events. They basically just retired in their 30’s.

1 in 10,000 white blonde women looks like Margot. so no, that’s not the key to her insane beauty. and yes she has become an A lister.

They'd bettet love each other because they are going to be all alone out there with only each other

Yeah. Hard to argue with this. It's a world of easy money, sycophant hanger ons and they'll eventually slip into eurotrash/celebdom.

Meghan didn't want the hard work of having to actually go to boring ceremonies and opening schools and visiting hospitals and having to go to charity events rather than celebrity openings. What makes people think that's going to change?

She's already divorced before.

Look at that family. Both sides. Wow. Not a good track record.

I ain't saying a divorce is guaranteed but it would not surprise me at all. And now they want to be jetsetting celebs. Virtually all of them get divorced.

Vancouver is closer to the west coast, if her mom lives there. There is also a significant entertainment industry.

That being said, she is familiar with TO, and I trust has friends and resources there.

It was literally the lifelong fantasy of basically every millennial woman in the West.

let’s say that this is true but Harry is not interested in millions of average women. the pool of women who interest him
is very small and as they all age very few of them remain available. he would be able to find a young good looking rando till the end of his life but that is not what interests him.

Well, he married a rando, didn't he?

no, he didn’t. he married an a fairly accomplished actress. not an A lister for sure but it’s a very cutthroat industry where she managed to do well.

Meghan reportedly made around $5 million in the course of her acting career on Suits - $50K per episode and then a bunch more money for brand sponsorship, her two fashion lines, and her "lifestyle" stuff.

I went to NYU with a ton of out-of-work actors who would desperately love her supposed "D-list" success of $5 million. If she wasn't married to Harry, she could easily retire as a single mom assuming she wisely invested her money.

And Harry has $33 million of his own money. They have plenty of money of their own, without a dime from the Crown.
