Sorry --- I don't agree with analysis of DA experience vs. another.
IMO, the DA shouldn't be about trying to squeeze money out of its parents players for something not directly related to their training. To me, its a cash grab by the Spirit. Maybe you and child would have bought the tickets anyway, but it shouldn't be a requirement. |

Agree, but don't waste your time feeding a troll who doesn't appreciate the benefits of watching quality soccer. Just because filling the seats benefits the club, it doesn't mean the kids don't benefit as well--his attempt at an "argument" carries zero weight. -------------------- Maybe my argument is over your head. Leave it to the people to decide for themselves whether they want and able to take advantage of going to Spirit games. Don't make it mandatory --- that's just lame. They are plenty of other avenues to watch "quality soccer" --- the Spirit is just one option that may or may not be convenient for parents who already shelling out a big amount cash for their kid to a play game. Hope this helps! |
| Anyone see any good soccer this weekend? |

Hope this helps! Quite entertaining. There are other options locally for those who don't want to deal with the "injustice" of the ticket. Buh-bye |
What makes you think they are actually adding to the fee rather than just giving the girls a free ticket with the hope you buy another one? I think that is far more likely. Do you tell at people offering you a free beer? Talk about looking a gift horse in the mouth...geez. |
| How much does it cost for the additional seat for the parent to accompany their child? Do they give you a discount on those? |
I see it as a gimmick as well. It helps sell more tickets because the player needs his or her parents to take them to the game. It’s all marketing to sell more tickets and fill many empty seats. |

The other issue beside DA is the Spirit Super Y is $849 compared to others at $600.
Give people the option if they want the season ticket or not. Just don’t go raising prices thinking people want it! Realistically how many matches can a Super Y or DA player even make! |
Yes, there is a discount. |
Oh for the love of existence. Don't do it. BTW where super y is concerned forget the games, competition is so hit or miss in that league. The training is what really matters. If you can't make the twenty or so training sessions then again, don't do it. I didn't get the parents who signed up when super y was 500 (or maybe less) but couldn't make training or games. People, you don't have to sign up. |
What are you talking about? No one is mentioning training sessions, they are mentioning a price of $850 vs $600. As far as training, if I am going to do the training why not the training at $600 paying $250 less for their season ticket gimmick as someone called it above! Why is the price of Washington Spirit Super Y so high? The ticket!!! That many don’t want or value!!! Make soccer affordable and don’t try and sell season tickets! |
| I don't have a problem with folks paying WS fees if they think it is good value. But make no mistake ... you are funding the club at every turn. That's the part I question. They have not one, but two teams feeding into this thing. Theoretically that turns around someday, but it is not soon. |
I guess there are lots of folks in need of a dictionary to better understand the definition of the word gimmick, in that case. A season ticket to pro soccer games has a good bit of value to quite a few people; perhaps not you. Also, just curious, why are you so sure that people with DDs who play on Spirit DA teams didn't already have season tix before they joined? Chances are a good number did, given the interest in playing for that club over the others. This is a way to get the tix at a substantial discount, because additional tickets purchased come at a discount as well. As mentioned before, like any other consumer option, if you don't like it, look elsewhere. We don't have to all agree on it, but there are plenty of people who appreciate the value they are getting for their money. |
I think you missed the greater message. So I'll repeat the first line again. Oh for the love of existence don't do it. Does it really take multiple posts to say "Im going a few miles up the road for SYL, as we won't attend the pro games so that cost is just too high for what you get"? Every club has costs that make no sense, required training that looks like a chat session or those academy Mondays that well who know what the hell their even for. The travel that the clubs are fully aware of but play dumb on during sign up season. The list goes on and on. Basically, just pick a $h1t show and don't breathe in too hard. |
I dunno, I would bet that very few on the VA side had season tix, nor want them now. |
