deeper soccer experience compared to what?

I think its more of "the prestige" for the parents than anything else, at this stage of the MD portion of the program at least.

If it's all about prestige then WS would have issued car magnets the 1st day like all the other clubs in the DMV so parents can brag on their tailgate. In fact, you cannot even buy a DA or WS car magnet! I actually looked. GDA and WS have been too busy starting up to give a rat's ass about parents' having a chance to brag on their bumper. What's on your tailgate?

Make no mistake those magnets are coming and when they do, they'll be $50 a piece, but you'll get a season ticket to see the Spirit play...lol

Why did you put "Lol" at the end of your statement?

While I didn’t make that post the lol was appropriate because they use that “you will get a Spirit season ticket” gimmick for wverything

Gimmick? Is the ticket DC United gives its players also a gimmick? Or are they both benefits of playing with the pro league club, so they player can watch firsthand how the top players handle different situations and learn something? It's the latter, in my opinion.

I see they're giving away free kool aid with the Spirit season ticket now.
But if it makes you feel like you're getting your money's worth...good for you!

Did your dd not make a Spirit team or something? Or are you the parent who’s trying to start your own team just to parade your own dd as a star? Either one, seems clear you have a motive other than community sharing of information here. No club is perfect, but to call a start up club less than a year old that has clearly improved so many players in a short time “a joke” makes it pretty obvious you’re just trolling.

Agree, but don't waste your time feeding a troll who doesn't appreciate the benefits of watching quality soccer. Just because filling the seats benefits the club, it doesn't mean the kids don't benefit as well--his attempt at an "argument" carries zero weight.

No.
No.
Yes.
I never the said the Spirit were a joke --- I'm sure their well on their way to becoming the women's version of FC Barcelona or Real Madrid, and your DD is well away on her way to a scholarship, numerous national team appearances, world championships, Olympics, and beyond.
I just find it humorous that the Spirit "throw in" a season ticket as part their players costs (typically higher than average) and people lap it up like its the nectar of the Gods.

I'm not sure if that makes a troll or not??? Please advise!

What other club has so many former professionals and national team players on their staff, most of which work with current US National Team players evey day and/or where one themslves? If they do, is that for 40 teams or just the 5 teams? Do Spirit teams add mandatory meetings or move practices to purposefully conflict with other clubs’ announced tryouts? Do they threaten their players to be benched if they even bother to look at other clubs? Have they told players that chose another club for next year they can’t go to San Diego or even show up at practice anymore? Do they send coaches to other clubs’ tryouts to intimidate their players simply investigating other options? All of this BS happens every spring from the so called top clubs like Bethesda, McLean, BRYC, and king of the egos FCV. It’s disgusting. I hope for one that both United and Spirit DAs finally become clear top destinations for the 1% of players that have a real shot at going pro one day, and in that process the 99% of those 1% who don’t go pro still come out better players with more opportunity in sport and life. Maybe when there’s a clear top club the rest of these clubs trying to pretend they everything any player needs will be found out for the scoundrels they are in running their clubs like for profit businesses with their huge salaries while ending every sentence with “it’s for the kids”

It does. What would people say if they didn’t include a ticket? It’s not like they lead with that in any marketing.

What would people say if they didn’t include a ticket? Nothing ---- nobody would care, especially if they deducted the cost from the parent's outlay

But thanks for clarifying that I'm a troll, it clears up some lingering questions I had about the horns on my head!

My DD would care. She didn't choose an NWSL DA so she *NOT* feel connected to a pro team. She wants the jerseys like the DUC boys have, the ticket, the whole experience and hopefully the pathway.

Otherwise, FCV or somewhere else would have been the more obvious choice.

But on the bright side, you do finally have answers for those nagging cosmetic problems...

Please tell us where in the DMV we should go to get our money’s worth so that we can laugh at your answer.

But here's the thing... but if they didn't charge you for it you could buy as much or as little as you wanted to without it being rolled into the price and automatically assuming that this is something that you want. What I think is stupid is that they go ahead and try and pimp a d a ticket onto your user fee whether you want it or not
Anonymous
Actually, here's the thing: if I don't want an NWSL experience, I should probably not choose an NWSL academy. Then I can pick and choosewhate, and justhave the club experienxe be a normal, run od the mill club experience.
