DA vs ECNL vs everything else

Its not like most WS players had a choice of DA clubs to play for so its not like they chose it because of nwsl.

What is it that you want to say?

Your child obvioisly doesn't play for WS. So why do you give AF?

Are you attempting to place yourself on a pedastool by claiming to be smarter than us?

I assure you, it would be VERY easy to kick that stool from underneath your feet and watch you free fall awkwardly to the ground. Just name your club and watch me shred it up.

If not, STFU. Nobody cares about the opinion of a barking mut too scared to jump off the porch.

deeper soccer experience compared to what?

I think its more of "the prestige" for the parents than anything else, at this stage of the MD portion of the program at least.

If it's all about prestige then WS would have issued car magnets the 1st day like all the other clubs in the DMV so parents can brag on their tailgate. In fact, you cannot even buy a DA or WS car magnet! I actually looked. GDA and WS have been too busy starting up to give a rat's ass about parents' having a chance to brag on their bumper. What's on your tailgate?

Make no mistake those magnets are coming and when they do, they'll be $50 a piece, but you'll get a season ticket to see the Spirit play...lol

Why did you put "Lol" at the end of your statement?

While I didn’t make that post the lol was appropriate because they use that “you will get a Spirit season ticket” gimmick for wverything

Gimmick? Is the ticket DC United gives its players also a gimmick? Or are they both benefits of playing with the pro league club, so they player can watch firsthand how the top players handle different situations and learn something? It's the latter, in my opinion.

I see it as a gimmick as well. It helps sell more tickets because the player needs his or her parents to take them to the game. It’s all marketing to sell more tickets and fill many empty seats.

I can tell you the proce of a ticket is not included in the WS DA fee calculations because I’ve asked and believe the answer. They are not funding their club on the DA. The total cost of this season is less than we ever paid in ECNL. I’ve heard they lose money actually. Your argument about tickets and money is revealing so much. What soecific club do you think provides better opportunity and teaching for the same or less money? Enlighten us so we may move our DDs like you are obviously trying to make haope. To prop up whater ever team your DD is with (or club you are trying to help that’s losing players to WS)?

He's an FCV Dad. Loves to try to tear down WS and Loudoun. No other club is as egotistical as his. He drinks the FCV Kool Aid and rejoices at reading the press releases they Tweet and post on Facebook each time they win a game. He has been trolling this board since page 10.

You mean FCV? That for profit club? I thought a DA club making money off of players was bad?

Honestly, what does it matter? His base assumption is wrong. There are many players that I know of who picked WS as their top option; I know several who didn't bother with the other DA clubs due to reputation and/or experiences with the clubs. It's clear that he equates wins and losses with a quality player development program, which anyone sensible knows is incorrect.

Terrific coach and yes he coached my child. He is tough but fair and your child will learn. Not great talking to parents but oh well on that as I don’t email or talk to coaches beyond anyearly meeting so not a big deal. This is bigger if you want lots of communication.

Spencer coached my daughter, and overall she enjoyed playing for him. I would counter that he is effective in communicating to parents. You will not see him "shmoozing" with parents; he does not socialize. (which is a plus in my book) He does respond to emails and text messages, and give meaningful feedback when you ask him. He could do a little better on the social aspect of tournaments with the girls, though - maybe attend a team dinner and sit with the girls, but I think the DA model will fix that small issue with all the extra interactions and planned team events when traveling. There were times when he didn't seem invested in his CCL team (at least during games), but I have not heard that about his coaching of his older ECNL group. He does seem to concentrate most on defense, so maybe not awesome if your kiddo is a striker, but that may vary with a different group of kids. Overall, he is a decent coach and I think when combined with the rest of the WS staff, I think he will be great.

Haha this is the funniest post of all of these .. a WS poster throwing shade at FCV being for profit. At least FCV makes money at it.

Is that why they need to squeeze 3 teams on a field because they can afford them or because they are making money by doing so?

I'm pretty sure you need that 5th alternate jersey at FCV too. That probably never lines the owners pockets at all either.
