| I’ll reiterate what many posters have already addressed. There’s a lot more to this story than what has been discussed by the lawyer. Once again, people want to jump to conclusions before knowing the facts. |
Kids of all races are. Its just more outspoken in the black community and more hidden in the white as it happens but not talked about. I know families who "spank" according to the kids but you talk to the parents and they'd say never. For all we know, cops asked the child what his mom/parents may think of it and he said he would get beaten and cops went alone with it. We don't know the situation as we weren't there. If you told my child at 5 he'd be beaten he wouldn't even know what that was as it wasn't a word we used, o revenants whupped or spanked. |
They make an ok salary and most of it is overtime. Given they put their lives on the line they aren't paid enough. |
The assumption was the cops were white doing it to this child. It was really racist to assume any race of these folks. I suspect the child was asked what mom would do to him, he said and the police went along with it. To scream they are racist or bad people when we don't know the story is concerning. If you look up mom on case search a few people come up so its hard to know which one is her but there is DV and other issues in the home. |
That may not be the same person and the DV case with someone with similar name is from many years ago. Shame on you. |
| If, what the family claims is true, that is horrible and they are likely entitled to some damages. I would disagree that they are owed $1 million, even though I am sure it was difficult for the little boy, since Brianna Taylor's family only got a $12 million settlement. |
1) It is not racist to mention race or racism. 2) Most, if not all, people assumed one or more of the cops were Black. If any poster said that the cops were white, please share, it's been a long thread-- but I don't remember one. It demonstrates your own shallow understanding of institutional racism that you would think people who think that racism is involved assumed the officers were white. You're telling on yourself here. 3) ESS parents said they knew the family was Black. It's not just assumptions. 4) If the officers did what was alleged, they are, in fact, "bad people" or at the least did an extremely bad, disqualifying thing, yes. 5) *grabs bullhorn* IF THERE WAS DV OR OTHER ISSUES IN THE HOME THEN WHO THE F CARES AND HOW DOES THAT HAVE ANY BEARING ON THE ALLEGED ACTIONS OF THE OFFICERS 6) You are a garbage person. |
Brianna Taylor's family was robbed. So what now. |
Also the height of hilarity that this poster said "it was really racist to assume any race of these folks" at the same time as "if you look up the mom... there is DV and other issues in the home..." So either it's wrong to assume you know the race of people based on Internet searches or it's not. (And yes, this poster said it might not be the same person-- but then why share the DV issues if it's "wrong to assume" identity?) |
Yeah, for sure, he said that his mom would beat him, and then naturally, like normal, functional professionals, they then threatened a very young child with that punishment (illegal when committed by a non-parent) 20 times in less than an hour. Awesome, normal stuff. |
And all hell would be breaking loose trying to figure out how inept teachers allowed a young child to wander off school grounds. |
Why do you need to resort to name calling. We get it. White is bad? The dv in the home and a child witnessing that can impact the child’s behavior. Kids don’t just elope from school. |
Please show the exact policy that shows a teacher cannot stop a five year old from leaving a building without a guardian or parent or other authorized adult to escort them. I’ll wait ..... because you know you are full of crap. You and your “fact based” discussion = a pile of cow poop. |
Most Es have 2 staff at recess for a few hundred kids. Or, bad staff. |
Cool story. |
