I do think the expensive stuff tastes better, but not enough for me to actually buy it. Store-brand butter is good enough for me. I feel the same way about wine. I can definitely tell the difference between a $100 bottle and a $20 one, but it's not that much better that I would actually spend $80 more.

For me the difference between the $15 wine and the $35 wine is a huge one. More so than the difference between $40 wine and $100 wine.

+1 I will second that. Panera is disgusting. I can not for the life of me understand why anyone would eat there. I'd go to Mc Donalds before I'd eat panera

Panera is glorified hospital food.

Consider trying a nice fresh natural peanut butter lightly spread inside a sharp cheddar quesadilla.

Ew WTF?? Now that is controversial.

I KNOW.

But think about trying it sometime. It's not what you would expect at all.

You sweet thing. You really are pushing this!

OK, we might need a separate thread for the people you want to win over.
I have Ortega soft tortillas, shredded cheddar cheese and Jif. Will that work? Or do I need top tier ingredients?

NP and I cannot *wait* for you to report back!

Huh. I’m digging into my first bowl of Panera autumn squash soup as I read this. Delicious - I’ve dreamed about it for a year!

Truffle oil tastes like dirty socks.

That’s because 99% of “truffle” oil never met an actual truffle. Either get a real truffle infused oil ($$$) or good truffle salt. Skip the $8 bottle from the grocery store.

I can't believe someone advocated for putting mayo on corned beef.

I support this message. It's much better to eat whole foods and not processed substitutes. The worst offender in my opinion is fake dairy.

Honestly, this. Kerrygold IS better, but I still rarely buy it.

Kerrygold is great and we buy from Costco so it is very affordable. When it comes to using butter for cooking or baking we use the land o lakes brand.

Drinking almond milk should be a crime -- almond trees require an insane amount of water.

I love Wonderbread ham and cheese sandwiches. The best are those triangle-cut ones from the gas station to eat while you’re driving. I didn’t choose this life, it just happened.

If I'm going to get the expensive butter I'm damn well going to make it myself. Or really, make my kids do it. As much as they have, they can shake a jar of nice cream for 15 minutes for me. Fresh butter is loads better than any store bought, esp with a pinch of salt. Especially especially with some fresh garlic paste!
