Rose Hill is a pit with postage sized lots and crappy schools. |
Also, at least one of these people has issued an alert on Twitter that the lights will be tested this evening starting at 7:30 pm. So don't drive on 270, or something. |
Where does it say don't drive? Talk about lies. "Alert: the Julius West Middle School field lights will be tested on September 26th starting around 7:30 pm and will run as late as 10:00 pm. The test is to check operations and light levels." |
| I just drove home using I-270. If I wasn’t looking for the lighted JW field, I wouldn’t have noticed it. The lights did not cause any glare at all on I-270. |
| This has to be the most entertaining thread on this forum I have seen in a while. The activist wackos are out in force. Love it. |
The lights have attracted the airplanes...like months to the flame. I see them circling the field! |
+1 21 pages for an artificial turf at a middle school. Is there really nothing else worth arguing over. Full disclosure, my kid goes to JW, and the other one plays in MSI soccer. |
|
The lights has put a “spotlight” at Julius West. Pun intended. LOL. |
| ^^the planes are circling! |
OK, I'm giggling. |
|
Why are the Rose Hill parents so quiet this morning after last night’s light testing?
I’m curious if the lights bleed or glared into your house or windows, cause any issues on I-270/Falls Road, or anything else? |
I live near Wootton. I can hear their marching band and Friday night football games and the announcer *very* clearly until sometimes almost 10pm, when my kids are asleep. It's noise pollution. Should I complain to MCPS and the city? |
You can, but I doubt you will get anywhere. I can see the issue with high schools. They do Friday Night Football games with marching bands, etc. As for Julius West MS: The only outdoor sports Julius West has is cross country, soccer, and baseball. (Basketball is played indoors.) MSI doesn’t have late night games. The latest game they play is at 6:30pm but without any marching bands and announcers. Practices are not noisy at all. |
