If you want to see it, then ask for it. |
So when do the fields revert back to natural grass that can be used for any outdoor activity? Never. They are round the clock soccer fields. They have a dozen poles all over them and concrete edges for concussions. JWMS students better love soccer. They can't play anything else in middle school. |
Really? Who are you to command the Board of Education to release a document they are hiding? What super powers do you have? |
| That press release is from 2016. This has been in the works for over 3 years. It's done. It's not being undone. Your meeting is 3 years too late. I haven't seen the fields, because MSI hasn't been allowed to use them yet, but MSI is certainly not using them during JW school hours. |
You mean the City of Rockville's meeting that they required? Tell them yourself. 3 years? What's that mean? When MCPS said they weren't building the MSI stadiums this summer and didn't apply for permits that meant what? That meant MCPS can just blow off the City of Rockville permitting because you say so? Can everyone skip applying for building permits? FYI: Use permits can be pulled at any time. Done can be undone. |
State law. http://www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov/Pages/OpenGov/pia.aspx |
But you don't want to undo the use permits. You want to undo the actual physical fields that have already been constructed. That costs everybody money. Taxpayer money. And if the money has been spent on the fields (MSI's part of the agreement) and they don't get the use (MCPS's part of the agreement) then there will be another lawsuit in our future. |
There already was a lawsuit. It has already cost taxpayers money and will cost annual maintenance of $20,000. Where in the MCPS budget is that $20,000 going to come from? Your child's classroom? Will your child's teacher take a pay cut to pay for this private field maintenance? Thanks for offering up teacher salaries to pay for this! |
Post the document here when you get it. |
You're the one who wants to see it, you ask for it. |
| I really wish a certain person in Potomac had a different hobby. |
+1 I really don't see what the big deal is. JW students will also use the field. -signed a JWMS parent |
Thanks for offering up the salaries of your teachers to pay for this! The $20K a year can come right from your classroom teachers. |
It can or it did? Personally, I wouldn't care if schools no longer had any sports teams. PE yes; sports teams, no. But this isn't the thing that I would raise a stink over. |
Good point. I hadn't made the connection, but it makes sense. |
