Do you think the grass field that was here was any better? It was full of rocks, mud and gravel. The lighted turf field is awesome. I’m so glad MSI was willing to pay MCPS to build this field. All the MSI kids and parents are ecstatic that this field was finally open.

Apparently it’s not all Rose Hill residents that were unhappy with this field. There were many of them that were were either jogging, or walking their kids/dogs here. They told me that they were also glad the area is lighted and are able to still walk past sunset. Seems like a win/win for all.

Have there been any issues with parking, traffic and the field lights associated with this turf field?

I just came across this thread and decided to chime in.

It's been well over a year since MSI and others have used this field for soccer practices and games. No issues at all.

My DD is a JWMS student. Her and many of her friends have been using this great field for softball and cross country as well as for PE classes. They all love it.

No traffic issues. No lighting issues. Heck, there hasn't been any issues at all. Every thing has been great.

I'm glad MCPS and Rockville City had the common sense and intelligence to proceed with this turf field.

I guarantee that all the "Karens" that were against this field are now feeling quite stupid now.

This county absolutely needs more turf fields like this. This was a great deal financially too. It’s notable that MSI is doing these deals with MCPS and not county parks. Pretty good indicator of who cares about kids and who takes the nut jobs seriously.

Ever new HS being built now will have turf fields. It would not surprise me if local soccer clubs would partner up with MCPS to fund for the installation of turf fields to have exclusive rights to use the fields when it’s not being used by MCPS similarly at other MCPS soccer fields.
