A government that can tell you you don't have sovereignty over your own body can also, for example, force you to donate an organ or can decriminalize rape. The point is that once the government can control what your body is used for, then that door can swing wide open. If you don't think that's a big deal, then you're foolish.

Within 24 hours all of these hypocrites would be pro choice.

Don’t support the ban, but reading #youknowme —maybe people ought to consider having less sex with strangers? For every one person on there saying it was rape or a fetus with medical issues, there’s 50 saying — well I barely knew the guy . . . Uh maybe then he keeps it in his pants and you keep your underwear on?!

Or else.. baby?

When are you "pro-life" people going to realize that positioning a CHILD as a PUNISHMENT is not "pro-life"?

You don't have the right to tell someone else how to conduct their personal business, nor do you have the right to tell someone else how to mange their body.

If you don't want to have sex, don't.

+1. Where’s the shame for the men? 100% of unwanted pregnancies are caused by men.

Meanwhile this is the sort of brain power and compassion coming from the white men who support these laws

If a 12 year old is raped by her father and the father takes her to get an abortion, the evidence of the crime will be destroyed and he will go on molesting his victim for years. If however the child is born, his crime will be discovered and she will be rescued from the abuse.

You see it's important to force rape victims to carry their rapists' babies to term so that those rapists can maybe be prosecuted.

That's a feature, not a bug. Rich (Republican) girls get abortions, go to graduate school, then SAH with kids and a wealthy husband. Poor (Democrat) girls have their baby, get a GED, and spend a lifetime juggling multiple jobs with low pay as a single mother.

Trust me, Republican politicians know EXACTLY what they are doing.

They need to fill the country with poorly educated women who are fearful and impoverished so that’s they can fill massage salons and get the votes!

On contrary, we don't want them reproducing at all. They continue cycles of poverty.

But without poverty, you can’t instill fear and win elections. It’s the MAGA/Hitler way!

What? Dems are the champions of the poor and the poor are their biggest constituency.

Yes we are 100 percent aware of the irony that deomcrats are in favor of maternity leave and affordable childcare and universal healthcare and basically all the things that might help poor people get out of poverty and also make people want to have more children.

Because of course getting an abortion and prosecuting a rapist are mutually exclusive things in his stupid tiny brain. I guess he's never heard of rape kits. Yet another example of a mediocre man who knows nothing

What makes you think abortions are the product of sex with strangers? 45% of the women having abortions are married or living with a partner.

I believe I mentioned that the male should keep it in his pants.

They’re fine marrying him or living with him and sleeping with him until there’s a baby and then it’s — oh I don’t want a kid with him. Read the hashtag — it really isn’t about medical problems or rape for the majority talking about it. Is it no longer taught that you can pregnant EVERY time you have sex no matter how many BC methods you’re using, so if you don’t want a baby or child support, don’t do it?!

Personal responsibility. If you’re having sex but not in the position to have a baby, start saving. Set aside enough for a greyhound bus ticket + night or 2 at a motel 6 in the closest state to yours allowing abortion.
