Have you ever been personal friends with a seriously famous person?

Alice Cooper, but he’s really more a friend of my parents. My father was in the same class as Roy Cohn. My father said that he was just as much of a jerk back then. I used to know Prince Albert of Monaco. We’re the same age and we often were at the same parties when he was at Amherst College. I got to know him better when we were active in the same charitable organization. He used to invite me to the annual party he gave in NYC and to the annual Bal de l’Ete in Monaco. Neither one of us is still active in the organization we were once involved in. Last time I saw him was many years ago at the Bal de l’Ete when I was sitting at one of the tables of another friend I’m still in touch with, Prince Rudolf Kniase Melikoff. Rudolf is famous with a certain sector of the population. You can Google him.

If its not Michael Jordan no one knows. The only other athletes that immediately make people think 'he must be a billionaire by now' and SUPER-STAR fame is Cristiano Ronaldo and he's not old enough to have adult nieces/nephews.

NP but I doubt that.

I bet it's a golfer -- maybe Nicklaus or Palmer.

Like I said. Super-star fame. Wouldn't recognize either walking down the street. Michael Jordan on the other hand. Or Michael Phelps. They have distinctive features and globally recognized brands. Those other two just look like any old white guys heading towards a retirement home.

This woman is famous for her surgically enhanced breasts, for wearing very skimpy clothes in the tabloids and for saying attention-seeking, outrageous things. It's funny to see photos of her in the Daily Mail with my sister and her husband in the background. They stay at her house and she'll FaceTime with me to say hi to this woman and her kids (also recognizable to me) who I've read intimate details about in the British tabloids. She has her own perfume line and multiple volumes of best selling autobiographies.

Is Alice Cooper a nice guy in person? I know someone who used to live near him. He seems normal and pleasant, unlike his stage persona. LOL.

I am friends with....you know....that famous person (who i can't name here) because it would out them because I'm telling you all something.....well, I'm not really telling you anything about them. But I know someone famous, and I know something about them that's not a public persona, but I can't say who, or what, or where......Oh, but I can say I've known them for 10 or 20 or 5 years.......

You all are SO lucky I'm revealing SO much.

My DH was at college with Rachel Weiz - went to her 21st birthday party. No connection now.

She seems AMAZING. I have nothing but respect for her, and I am so glad to hear she is just as fantastic as she seems.

Alice Cooper is one of the only people in my life who I can say is a really good person. Many celebrities get involved with charities but they make sure that everyone knows about it. But Alice Cooper doesn’t care anything about looking like a good person, he cares about being a good person. Many years ago my parents, mostly my mother, got him involved in helping to preserve Native American culture and improving the lives of people on reservations. Alice still spends much of his time doing this, even though he could be making a lot of money doing other things. He is one of those rare people who does good things because they are good things, not so other people will admire him or because he thinks he’ll get some big reward in the afterlife.

Not now, but when I was a kid I was friends for a summer with Peter Billingsley's (A Christmas Story) sister Melissa.

Her brother was annoying and loved calling me "doofus". He wasn't even popular yet with his movie, but because he had been in some big ad campaign and was a regular on a TV show, the entire small town that they stayed in for the summer lost their minds over him.

And my sister was once rabid frenemies with Gwyneth Paltrow- which I know is far cooler than my experience.

One of my friends was rabid frenemies (they went to school together) with Paris Hilton.

Ok this is a good one. Is Gwyneth Paltrow as insufferable as she seems? How does your sister know her?

I know several people who have spent time with her, and they all says she's warm and very down to earth.

I know Greta Gerwig from college. It’s been awesome seeing such good things happen to her this year.

My husband went to Hunter, too. Sounds like you probably know one another.

Famous people screw a lot of nobodies like you. It's one of the perks of being famous. I'm sure if your friends were there, they would've had the same group experience.
