Not the poster whom you quoted. I agree that the ND football situation should not result in denigrating everything & everyone associated with this outstanding university, however the reality is that the University of Notre Dame and Notre Dame football are inseparable; the arrogance of Notre Dame football and its fans has created a situation where folks and institutions are tired of bowing down to ND football--yet we will still do so if the University and its football program and its AD act in a more dignified manner regarding this heartbreaking situation. |

2026 ND Football Schedule
09/06 - vs Wisconsin (in Green Bay, WI) 09/12 - Rice 09/19 - Michigan State 09/26 - at Purdue 10/03 - at North Carolina 10/31 - vs Navy (in Foxborough, MA) 11/07 - Miami (FL) 11/21 - Boston College TBA - SMU TBA - Stanford TBA - at Syracuse TBA - vs USC |
The two losses were by a total of 4 points to top teams. ND won every single other game by a huge margin. ND played and beat Penn State, Georgia, and Indiana during the CFP earlier this year and late last year. You people have very short memories. |
You're not denying it though! |
I think people mistake independence for arrogance. Being independent isn't arrogant, it is simply what it is. Unfortunately for others, they don't have the luxury of being independent. ND does. And as long as it continues to pay off, they will continue. This is just a little bump in the road. It will smooth out soon enough. It always does. |
That's one perspective. Many find Notre Dame football and its AD to be arrogant as well as independent. |
|
the loss against Miami though |
This is embarrassing. Why does ND need a Top 10 recruiting class to play this schedule? This is a Group of 5 one. |
Other than Wisconsin, U Miami, and USC, the schedule is average to weak. Notre Dame's strength of schedule will be ranked closer to #50 for next season (it was either #42 or #44 this year depending upon the source). |
Why is it that ND fans have trouble understanding that the CFP is for the 2025-2026 season? |
Oregon is going to wipe the floor with JMU. Go Ducks! |
First of all, they are required to play 5 ACC games every year. So not sure what they could do to change that. Second, they play Navy, USC and Stanford every year. That makes 8 games out of the 12. Third, the rest of the games are scheduled may years in advance. There is no way to know what these teams will be like so far in advance. Do they play a SEC like schedule? Of course not. They never did and they don't have to. Despite that, they destroyed Indiana, Penn State, and Georgia in the playoffs less than a year ago. |
