I’d add Bethesda to the 2011 list. |
They lost 5-1 |
Preferred style is just that, a preference. Winning requires putting the ball in the back of the net. Passing around the back without a purpose doesn't count as it doesn't advance the team forward. Yeah you may connect 12 passes on a sequence and lose it in the attacking third just to be countered by a team that just has flat out better athletes. Athleticism reigns supreme on the girls side for much longer than it does the boys. |
Pretty much. None of the “superstar” male girl coaches played at even a modest level themselves. Most are like “Milos”, the tennis coach from Seinfeld. Hard to teach what you can’t do nor really even understand. |
It is not about hater. You need to wake up and see what the real issue is. It is not about San Diego or San Francisco. The reality question for everyone in this area is. Why California and and Texas teams are way better than the teams in the DMV? The DMV should have all the resources but honestly the coaching has never been there. It is a coaching and parents problem. Clubs never really develop anything. Bunch off sales people. |
Really the CA and TX teams are just the top of a bigger pyramid. There is talent in NoVa but just Balkanized into many smaller teams. Many if the biggest SoCal clubs cover areas the size/population of all of NoVa or more. |
So Cal alone has what 25 million ppl? Meanwhile you have 3 ECNL clubs in a small area of MD pulling from each other. Not to mention a trip across the bridge to VA. Also helps when you can play year round soccer and not have to rely on Futsal during the winter months. But you keep on hating. |
Keep on pumping. Next year you will get that Natty just by pumping. |
I am sure this is known among the Union and Bethesda 2010 teams but how many players are leaving Union 2010 to go with the coaches to Bethesda 2010? Asking for a friend. |
What’s different in California and Texas? Soccer culture. There are just more people who are soccer natives (coaches, parents, players) who have grown up with it, played with their friends and families, watched games on tv. NoVa and MD teams are made up of suburban kids whose parents don’t know the positions on a soccer field and are just trying to get them into name brand colleges. |
0 Union 2010s are going to Bethesda |
About 3-4 were actively recruited to cross the line, none of these players made the decision to go. |
Glad to seE GOs Coaches that is. |
This is true. Something that people dont understand or comprehend is that theres probably over a 500 different youth soccer clubs in Socal. You hear about the big clubs that play in the big leagues but theres so many more. Some have existed for 30/40 years and are content just playing to have fun. On top of that theres mexican leagues, indoor leagues, arena leagues, futsal leagues and 3-4 different levels of leagues for clubs to participate in. Also everyone knows everyone else in one way shape or form from the southern border of San Diego all the way up to Santa Barbara. What this means is "coaches" can't sneak their way onto the scene with an accent unless they can deliver on the field. I would imagine other places are similar but likely not the same scale or population density. |
How did NVA/Loudoun do? Are they world class yet? Clock is ticking. |
