The 2010 Bethesda team also had some injuries so look for some FVU players to leave for NM. |
Being focused is all fine and good, but you'd have to be a fool to not at least attempt to reach out and gauge interest in any of the top 10's coming over to BSC. If it hasn't happened already it will, wether anyone takes that offer is a different story, but don't paint any of these coaches as holy spirits always looking to do the RIGHT thing, in the end they'll look out for #1 and the ones that feed them. |
I didn’t say it won’t happen. I just said it didn’t happen yet. I’m sure they will speak to the players they want after Richmond. You’d have to be a fool to stay at a club that kept all the coaches that finished in the bottom half of the conference and got rid of all the coaches that did well this year. |
Weather - A+ Field Conditions - A for sure. Parking - D. Yeah, they make a ton of $$ off of the parking alone, but it's pretty miserable. We lucked out 2 of 3 days and found spots pretty easily. The day we didn't my wife dropped me off and ended up parking in the overflow lot by the letter fields and walked. Pretty crummy. My first finals experience, is it any better in Seattle? |
I live down the street from the Polo Fields in SD. Surf has done a good job smoothing over the locals + making things work. Rancho Santa Fe (where the polo fields reside) is full of super mega nimbys that hate everything. Getting any kind of expansion or lighting approved is near impossible. You think Surf Cup Sports is making a killing charging for parking (they are). But, it could all end tomorrow if they piss off the wrong rich guy. Also a lot of the money they take in goes right back into "marketing" costs in the city. Love it or hate it the Polo Fields are one of the premier places to play youth soccer in the nation. |
The real winners are the teams that don’t make it out of group stage. They get all the exposure they need in the first 3 games, and then don’t need to spend $ on two extra days hotel/car/meals/parking when most of the college coaches have already left or have already seen you play. |
This is honestly a great post. Most of the coaches leave after the group stage. Incredible exposure during those three games though. |
If you are taking him at his word, you are likely making a mistake. I made the same mistake. Don’t wait on him. He’ll string you along and feed you bullshit. Be proactive. |
I agree x1000 My kids team missed out on going to finals in a pk shootout. Every parent said the same thing. Thank God I dont have to spend another 2-3k going to Virginia. Wins are nice but once you get to finals coaches can do better just watching film and reaching out to players when theres only 8 teams. I also think just barely qualifying for playoffs is a booby prize as well. You're going to get matched uo against the best teams in the league first. Which means youre spening 2-3k to lose in the first game and be out of thr tournament. |
Yeah. Swallowing the extra travel just a couple of weeks after a week plus in San Diego is a tough pill. We have qualified for Finals, but we are very lucky it's a local trip that doesn't require a ton of travel time. Good Luck to those teams flying in. |
Who are you talking about? |
You must not know those coaches very well. Conversations have definitely been happening. |
That’s what I’m saying. A PP said conversations would happen after Richmond. I don’t buy that for a second. |
seems plausible. If they beat that team there is nothing to market off of minniville. They did pick up some good talent from a recently imploded club however. Def will come down to coaching. |
If CW is not the coach they leave, if he is the coach they stay. This run that will end against Solar has no impact on who goes or not, just the coach does. It has to be CW. |
