I’m curious where everyone commenting on “trans stuff” lives state/city wise.

I live in Los Angeles. We are not bombared with “trans stuff”. I’d think this would be ground zero.

I think the news/the right talks about it so much THEY are making it a thing vs it actually being a thing.

Where here has had a trans male to female compete against their daughter in sport?

Who here has had a trans male to female use a ladies room where your daughter has been?

I realize people can lie about it here being this is an anon forum but this particular talking point mystifies me.

I’m no Trump advocate, but this bs is why we lost. Mortgage rates have been rising -again- for the last 7 weeks. And the Fed hit pause today since the markets are on fire. That’s all we have today, folks. But fear not, I’m sure there is plenty of time for the catastrophic destruction you are salivating for.

Neither candidate was going to fix the debt issue. The US has record levels of tax income. The problem is spending.

You don't fix deficits with tax cuts. Basic math here.

Trump already significantly increased the national debt with his tax cuts.

His proposal would also increase it significantly more.

He had four years and ran up the deficit and left us with a pandemic.

It's not that complicated. I think we can all agree that our immigration system is seriously broken. This is a country of immigrants. It's our greatest strength. But having millions of unvetted migrants stream across our border is just wrong. They strain social services, schools, courts, and undermine wages for working and middle class people. Violent crime is another one. I saw an interview with the DC police commissioner. The average murder suspect has 11 felonies. That's ridiculous. These violent people should have been in prison a long time ago and their victims should be alive. Progressive initiatives on justice are literally killing people. Again, bad issue for Democrats. Be tough on violent crime.

The trans thing is such a minor issue. But Democrats supporting Title IX did signal to women that Democrats don't support them. It's not unreasonable for biological women to want to have their space in sports, bathrooms, prisons, and so on. And the whole trans women reading to kids in libraries was just weird.

Women's access to reproductive health care is the big issue. But the SC made this a state issue. Those battles are being fought in Missouri. Not in Maryland. It's not a national issue.

And finally youth. There was a 30 point swing in Gen Z support for Democrats. That does not bode well. A lot of young people don't feel like Democrats have their back.

People voted for Trump not because they supported him. But because Democrats are just wrong on so many key issues. Progressives are killing the party. Some basic tuning to make Democrats the Middle Class party would go a long way.

Exactly. But I don’t think the Democrats will listen because the progressives have a lock hold on the party.

On Gen Z: My Harris-voting Gen Z sons told me that they got 100s of ads targeted to them on social media from Trump and saw not a single Harris ad. Whoever handled social media for Harris did an absolutely terrible job.

They also told me that in our liberal blue area, about half the Gen Z boys they knew in their widely diverse friend groups were voting for Trump and that those that voted for Trump skewed brown and black as far as race.

Well, I think there's plenty of reflection for Democrats to do. I think our country and media as a whole has a A lot of reflection to do.
Most media let Trump go unchecked for the past year..... Only his most notorious falsehoods were ever called out like they're eating the dogs and cats. Even when that was proven false, it pretty much was Backpage news and only covered by mainstream media.
With the growing listener base of things like podcast and tick tock Democrats really need to pivot hard into those markets because that is where young men are getting all of their news and they are fed a steady stream of lies constantly. Cousin is 25 and his view of the world is 100% different than mine even though we have similar occupations lifestyles and income levels. Most of it is because of the news that we consume. I am a moderate dem and I voted for Kamala. However it is very, very dangerous and stupid to deny that the party went too far left for any person with a common sense, and is propagating policies hurtful to the “normal” people.
- trans: our local university team is involved in huge controversy over a player on their team
- immigration: too many ppl on TPS, u4u, asylum seekers, it’s impossible to enroll in a Medicaid clinic or heck, even English classes for seniors!
- dei stuff: all high schoolers read is some modern crap about some non white ppl and injustice. Romeo and Juliet is the only classic they have this year.
- there are mask mandates every winter at medical facilities, incl visitors, incl the dental office I go to
-mandatory ethnic studies in 9th grade instead of history

I listed things that are somewhat affecting me personally. I am not even mentioning all the woke mentality that surrounds me as at least I can block these ppl or avoid talking to them.

I still vote for Dems as I am interested in all the public benefits of all kinds they want to give out, but I can only imagine how infuriating all this crap is to people who are high earners.
