Can all of Gay's defenders explain why they are so defensive of her? It's a bit puzzling given the revelation that her entire academic history is riddled with plagiarism. What is your point in defending her?
Is it because she's "Strong Black Woman" and you must always defend Strong Black Woman even if they turn out to be mediocre and corrupt? |
Her race is irrelevant. You folks who are trying to make this about race are desperate. |
Frankly, I don't believe it is about defending Gay specifically. It is more about defending DEI and not being willing to admit that Gay was hired because of her race and gender, was not thoroughly vetted, and the entire focus on hiring based on immutable characteristics is proving to be a failure. |
It’s “principles” fyi. Why don’t you spend more time brushing up on your spelling skills rather than focusing on the shortcomings of others. |
Have you considered counting the number of DCUM posts that focus on the shortcomings of others? You would be counting into infinity. ![]() |
Sounds like Harvard probably should have applied the similar scrutiny to the Gay’s academic record. Shame. |
You don't have to trust the UN. There are thousands of video documentations by numerous different sources. You just don't watch them, and that is the problem with most Americans. They have inherent bias against Arabs because they have been fed media to believe that everyone is a terrorist. Sort of how they believe that all AA are criminals. It is this bias that allows Israel to continue its apartheid practices with zero intervention. |
What does plagiarism have to do with assaulting Jewish students? |
I’m confused by this too. I’ve been an active supporter of organizations that bring diversity to workplaces (for instance Black Girls Code, great organization). But it’s also quite clear that Gay was protected and elevated for reasons that had nothing to do with her paltry academic record. The plagiarism allegations against her — and they are remarkable — were not new. The plagiarism is documented and extensive. You can see it on its face. I’m genuinely confused by the people who seem to think Gay should keep her position. In academia plagiarism and data falsification, when proven, has traditionally been a career killer. And that’s true of men and women of all races. So why defend this so vociferously? It just makes the left look entirely weak and makes diversity efforts look really bad. This is a case of diversity going wrong, it is okay to admit that Gay was unsuitable for the position based on her plagiarism. I don’t even particularly care about the ham-handed way she handled the Congressional testimony. It was not well-done, but she could have survived it. However, the point is that she never should have been in that position in the first place because the plagiarism and thin academic record should have disqualified her ages ago. But it didn’t. Why defend that so much? It just makes you look foolish to people who aren’t extremists. |
So Jews stand alone? With POC on one side and white people on the other? Where do Italians and other non-white, non-POC people fit into this? |
There is no harassment. Did you see the videos of the Palestinian students who were shot? the one who was in ICU? The video of the funeral for the shot Palestinian child? Or the IG for the Palestinian man beaten bloody outside a restaurant? So many dead and injured Arab Americans (and 24K+ dead Gazans) but the only thing that white America talks about is campus protests - where rich kids felt uncomfortable. It's madness. |
Washington Post, New York Times and Atlantic all wrote pieces against Ms. Gay. |
Because it had nothing to do with her record and 100% that she was not pro-Israel. She was fired for lack of adherence to AIPAC and ADL talking points. So she was removed and replaced with a white, Jewish man who is pro-Israel. It is that simple, and ideological. |
This sort of over-the-top accusatory and frankly ridiculous response makes your entire position weak. The fact is that many Americans have seen many, many videos. Some are indeed videos from Israel that are awful. Some are the videos that Hamas uploads to its own Telegram channels, or other videos from radical Islamists. You seem to want us to only believe the first group and ignore the second group, and that’s not going to happen for rational people. |
Oh, good. When is he resigning? Which principled Republicans are regretfully calling for his ouster on account of their abiding concerns about the evils of plagiarism? Are they being called RINOs by white supremacists who are only using this plagiarism thing as a pretext to hate on an uppity black woman? |
