I’m assuming you don’t drink and don’t want anyone else to drink too? It’s much worse for you than weed.

Red herring

So you're OK with sending people to jail for making a smell you don't like? Should it be the death penalty for owning a ginko tree?

Does this mean it will be legal for teachers and daycare workers to smoke marijuana like on their lunch breaks?

Genuine question:
If they did, would it be best handled by the criminal justice system, or administratively and/or through the civil courts?

Such a moronic question. Can teachers drink on the job?

No. But do teachers who drink on the job get arrested and jailed and carry a criminal record for life? Or does it get treated as a personnel matter?

Not that poster, but I hope rental property management companies, condo associations, and home owners associations restrict it in their leases and covenants. And I hope they fine and evict people who don't comply, and put liens on their houses.

This is absolutely going to happen, which will unfortunately mean that we will be exposed to more public use and we are going to start seeing more complaints about equity surrounding use.

Right now it's still illegal. Are you suggesting that maybe prohibition doesn't work?

You think a home owner's association ought to be able to put a lien on someone's house for smoking inside their own house? Really?

If the smell drifts to common areas, absolutely.

It is already against the law to smoke in common areas in Montgomery County, MD and it does not specify that it only applies to tobacco.

“The Montgomery County Board of Health Regulation 17-210, is a County law that prohibits smoking in any common area in a multiple-family residential dwelling, defined as any indoor area of a multiple-family residential dwelling which is accessible to the occupants of more than one dwelling, including a hall, lobby, or laundry room. This regulation also prohibits smoking within 25 feet of a playground area.”

The law does not apply to private residences (however there is a prohibition on smoking in private residences in the Village of Friendship Heights, MD).

HOAs have the power to set their own rules and you can choose to abide them or move. That can include banning smoking inside or on your property. Landlords also have the power to ban smoking on their property. HOAs enforce their bylaws with fines/liens. Landlords enforce their lease agreements with termination/eviction.

That’s life. Don’t like it, don’t smoke marijuana or move to a place where it is allowed.

No, but you are suggesting that none can stop it even if it's illegal
montgomery county has lost control.

Eviction seems a little bit extreme, but what do I know?
