oh sorry, misread! I agree, kids are at low risk even if they get covid. I hate the idea of my kid getting covid, but I also know he needs to be in school. |
Um, maybe you should enroll in an online school to brush up on your reading? I said kids are LOW risk, so we are in perfect agreement. |
Apology accepted. I feel the same way. |
Which one and why/how? Seems criminal to me. Per pupil funding should be adjusted for the number of students in person at any given time. They can't go on accepting facility funding, normal custodial funding, etc. for closed schools. |
Our school didn’t. And only one teacher in PK-1st showed up. |
Our JKLM did not. My kid was in school 2 mornings per week. |
Did the post say ALL schools? But the point still stands. Bowser and central office didn’t care that some schools opened and some didn’t. |
NP. No, it didn't say ALL. But saying "Schools in upper NW opened four full days a week" strongly implies that the poster thought all of them did. |
No "research" shows no such unambiguous thing. We. don't. know. yet. The most optimistic study brought up shows at least 2% of infected kids get some long covid symptoms. We know very little about what proportion gets debilitating symptoms, when/if they subside, how level of infection, predisposition, age, variant, treatment of initial infection all impact likelihood, severity, duration of long-covid. But, no, there is no consensus of research showing that it's minimal in kids. It is a huge area of concern for experts around the world, particularly in the UK, where they've YOLO'ed kids into schools unmasked and are "celebrating" reopening day today, halfway through a huge spike in cases. |
ok? well, let's get the adults vaccinated. flu is very dangerous to kids and we don't shut down the schools because of it. https://www.healio.com/news/infectious-disease/20190205/bad-flu-seasons-test-us-hospitals |
No, the research is as solid as can be expected right now. And we DO know that shutting schools for TWO YEARS is very harmful. Once again for those of you in the back - feel free to stay home and enroll in Friendship Online. |
But you won’t win, so what have you achieved, actually? |
"as solid as can be expected right now" lololol. Okay. |
Its not the huge win you think it is, if you have toured any of the private special ed schools that accept placements. |
