Bombshell: Leaked Kremlin docs show 2016 Russian plan to boost "mentally unstable" Trump campaign

It should. The wheels of justice are slow, even slower during a pandemic. McConnell and McCarthy are horrible for the US.

That’s the power of propaganda. A lot of right wing propaganda has been crafted by Russia for the last five (or longer) years, but Republicans have absolutely been stewing their raisin brains in the rum of right wing propaganda for decades, some of them. There’s no light in there. A lot of extreme Republicans on here claim to read corporate media, but I sense they do so only to confirm their beliefs in what their propaganda says.

The big famous propagandist was Rush Limbaugh, and he’s when right wing propaganda went mainstream. At the time his fans claimed that he was getting popular because he was getting popular, but deep pockets got him where he was and ensured that he had no competition from the left. And of course there were others like him, and Fox, and then the proliferation of right wing propaganda on the internet, along with absolutely bat shith crazy email forwards that seemingly came from the bowels of hell. Our fellow citizens are, in this respect, completely out of their minds. They were absolutely ripe for the picking for Russia.

Just remember, the CRT BS is coming from the same propaganda machine. So those of you are the right who continue to be outraged by it, please think critically.

I'm skeptical that this yet more Russian disinformation to get fights started up again that have been waning somewhat with Biden in charge.

This whole story will almost certainly disappear. These lurid Trump-Russia tales always get walked back. Always.

Pride cometh before the fall.

This. Even as they are proven wrong they can't accept it and double down on their denials. The ocean was so hot in British Columbia recently that there was a massive ocean die off. But, no such thing as global warming. More and more evidence comes out about the attempted coup, silence. Covid is a hoax and I refuse to be vaccinated. Hundreds of thousands dead.

We are not dealing with rational people. They are brainwashed.

It won't disappear because the very fabric and fiber of our country is at stake.

Probably nothing. He was in on it, and he doesn’t bite back at people who have more power than him. Remember this?

Oh yes the subservient puppy walk

Unfortunately, these stories always disappear, for reasons I don't understand. It's like everyone is protecting the GOP or something. Their "base" won't believe the connection anyhow, but they think the former guy is sane.

I wouldn’t bet my life on it. These big scoops are almost always entirely hype.

It could be. Someone on twitter pointed out that there’s one hedge phrase in the Guardian article, something about the chain of custody, but really, does this dovetail with what we know? With what we saw in 2016, what we watched happen? Does this sound remotely farfetched? Does it change the fact that the GOP is still pumping out divisive propaganda?

This may be more Russian disinformation. But it doesn’t seem like it.

DP.

Not “hype”, the significance of these stories are just beyond the ability of certain audiences to comprehend or accept.

No, I think PP is right. Forget this story for one minute, let’s go with “things we learned were real”. Do you remember that Russia hacked the DNC and the RNC at the same time? Do you remember that only the DNC’s material was released to distract from the pussy grabbing video (along with a lot of made up stuff meant to inflame people)? Do you remember when it was confirmed that Russia was working with Facebook, that Russia was actually creating a lot of the propaganda that Fox and other similar outlets pushed? The GOP is working with Russia. This is a fact. The extent to which is still unclear, though the GOP’s treachery is very clear. They want us to forget that little violent coup they staged in January, for example, want to just “heal and move on.”

Might this story be proven untrue? Sure. That doesn’t change the fact that PP is right that our nation is at stake. This must be gotten to the bottom of.

Parts of it are likely true. The best disinformation mixes truth and lies so it's hard to sort out what is what.
