When I married 20 years ago, $100 was a cheap gift. Sorry. |
Ginormous Catholic family here- my parents give $500. Grandparents gave 1k.
I give $250 to cousins if my whole family and my kids come. $150 if no kids |
$100
|
It was cheap 10 years ago when I got married too. But was totally okay for under 25 year olds to give |
This! If they need more then they shouldn’t be getting married.😁 |
I can see why they only have you $100. 😀 |
Are people really only giving $100 for a wedding these days? I spend $40 on a kid’s birthday gift. |
Yes! Have niece $100 a couple of years ago and she is already divorced. What a waste! |
I try to cover the cost of the meal plus a gift so it depends but, I would give at least $500 to my niece. |
You can’t even go out to a nice dinner for $100. |
When I married aunts and uncles each gave us $1-1.5k. But we are catholic from nyc area so expectations might be higher.

I eloped in Vegas. I find it strange that other adults would need to give me money...how embarrassing. If I could not afford to get married then I would not. I would rather they donate to charity. |
This is totally cultural. In my family there are registries but no cash gifts. |
They don’t need to. They didn’t! Everything is fine. |
Yes it is fine! I agree with that. Married 30 yrs. |
