| Fairfax City to DC is a painful commute. Hard pass. |
| Mantua |
It’s actually not that bad. |
| I went to Woodson and know many of the surrounding high schools. Lots of neighborhoods just outside the beltway have wonderful schools. Oakton, Woodson, Lake Braddock, West Springfield. You can get a nice house for that price range and lots of kids! |
| And you won’t be paying for the hype of Vienna, Great Falls or McLean |
+1 unless the DC office is close to L'Enfant or Union Station and then I'd say Burke for the VRE. |
Vre to union station is really soul sucking |
| Come join us in Burke! I’m in Burke Station Square right across from the VRE. Great schools, amazing community, houses around $700. |
| Pimmit Hills |
Not really. I can walk a few blocks to/from the station at either end, so no driving at all. I find it to be a very pleasant commute. Much more so than Metro, if you can make the schedule work. |
| Burke is very family friendly and great schools |
| Welcome to Centreville. |
| Can't remember the name but there's a few neighborhoods around Robinson secondary school that were just nice when we were looking around for a house. I liked that it was walking distance from the school, several large pools, and also close to GMU. I wish I could remember then name- I recommend driving around Robinson Secondary neighborhood. DH did not want to live there because he thought the school was too large. In hindsight, that neighborhood would have been a better for us than Vienna. |
