We live in the WestPo pyramid and see a lot of our neighbor's kids graduating and heading to UVA, William & Mary, etc. They all report being very happy with the schools. Our kids are young but we're not writing off the pyramid just yet. It's a diverse are and the GS ratings reflect that. |
Why post a ghastly dated townhouse when OP appears to want a house? |
Those photos are terrible. It really looks like they found pictures from 15 years ago and used them for the listing. |
| Burke. |
| East and south of fairfax city. Comparable commute to dc from Vienna. Fairfax city and gmu relatively close. Relatively affordable. |
Number 1 is practically on top of the 495-66 ramp, and they're doing extensive changes to that interchange. Number 2 will practically be on top of 66 when they widen it inside the Beltway. Number 3 seems light on pictures, but probably because the market doesn't require the effort. Number 4 will probably go over $850 because it's got a McLean address. I'd look at number 3. |
Says someone who most likely doesn’t have kids in the system. The middle gets a bad rep on here but people we know who have kids there are happy |
| Look in the area between Merrifield and the city of Falls Church. Schools are economically diverse and therefore don’t have ‘the best’ ratings, but talk to the families in the area and most are happy with their experiences there. Lower prices than Vienna for similar homes. Relatively easy commute to DC. |
DP, but specifically you want the Shrevewood part of 22043 or Dunn Loring. |
The Timber Lane area in 22046 that's north of 29 and also between Merrfield and Falls Church City puts you in a lower-rated elementary, but is zoned to a top AAP center as well as more sought-after middle and high schools than the Shrevewood/Dunn Loring area. |
This is an option too, I was thinking the housing stock is better in Shrevewood at that price point. |
| Burke/W. Springfield. Look at homes in the $700-$750 range. The bidding wars are no joke. |
