How many DC Public School administrators are collecting over $100,000 / year?

I agree, especially when DCPS can't keep both teachers and admin for at least 5 years without a majority of them quitting.

Every single one are collecting over 100k OP, a simple Google search would have told you that.

But that's not why you actually posted this sh*t, right?

Well, if only the rich neighborhood schools are succeeding (where parents have $$ for high quality after-school enrichment programs), but the poor neighborhood schools are mostly failing, we need to look at what's going on in the schools.

And here's probably something to consider: when children don't FEEL safe, or they don't think that their teacher 'likes' them, they're less able to learn much. Who wants to be where they aren't wanted and valued?

The salary schedule is public and based on years in the profession, education level, and professional development credits. Teachers also receive bonuses based on whether or not they are at a high-needs school and their impact score. Teachers that make this kind of money are working very hard and deserve it.

Is this the same voice, being called out on other threads being anti-union, anti-teacher, and anti-everything. I would love to have a complete conversation about public education without being derailed by this continual madness. Move on, please!

Educators deserve good money only if their students are thriving. Those in failing schools deserve nothing, and should move on. Why pay people for poor results?

Especially when you consider it's one of the lowest performing school systems in the country. Maybe their pay should some how reflect their students' progress?

So about how many DCPS administrators are collecting over $100,000 per year?

This whole discussion has people opining about the appropriateness of $100,000+ for various DCPS personnel.

But OP’s question was about whether or not there is a large number of well-paid administrators.

I know there were complaints in the past about headcount “downtown” but that sone positions were cut during the Rhee era.

Anyone know whether the current DCPS staffing works as a friends and family staffing program? Ir is the level of administration reasonable for the size of tge system?

Turns out that when teachers refuse to do their jobs, and deny children an opportunity to get an education, parents start asking a lot of questions about school policies, like why teachers are paid so much.

Teachers have been doing their jobs. Teachers have not "denied children an opportunity to get an education."

You're big mad about DL. Oh well. Your problem.

The starting pay for admin is OVER 100k, please don't cry about teachers.

And I've also never understood why 'stress' is a factor to how much someone should be paid, it's fairly subjective. Also the idea that management should be paid more, lol the people below them literally are the backbone, without them NOTHING happens.

No one would care how much teachers or school administrators were making if they were actually doing their jobs. It's when schools are closed for this long for no good reason, and our kids are falling so far behind, that people ask, why on earth are these lazy-good-for-nothings making so much money?

You're melodramatic and absurd. Teachers never stopped doing their jobs. "Lazy good for nothings?" ROFL. You sound like big Boomer energy, you drama queen.

Now try doing your job as a parent.

Do any union members here agree?

Pretty unanimous that teachers and admins deserve pay.

100k is not that much for highly educated professionals.

This reminds me of my in-laws who were sooooo upset that congressmen make 174k. They claimed that it was an incredible amount of money. Whereas I thought they were underpaid and it means only rich people can afford to run for office.

If their students are successful, it isn't that much at all, but we seem to have little correlation between highly educated professionals and successful students. Why is that?
