How many DC Public School administrators are collecting over $100,000 / year?

In case you haven't heard, parents are mad as hell about paying you a full salary while their children are falling behind just because you'd rather not go back to school. If other schools here can do it, so can you. You have lost all respect.

100k is not that much for highly educated professionals.

If their students are successful, it isn't that much at all, but we seem to have little correlation between highly educated professionals and successful students. Why is that?

I'm not sure I disagree with everything you say, but I sure disagree with the rank meanness of some people round here.

There's only one poster using the "dumb" word. I think it's over the top. But tons of families in the DMV are suffering because of the needless school lockdowns. Most of them aren't on this site.

Because a teachers education, an administrators education does not equal educated parents, parental income, home life, books at home, summer enrichment, etc

There is one poster (or maybe a couple) who are just constantly raging against teacher, the Union, the administration. It’s like seriously everyday with multiple threads. It’s a pandemic so this must be their outlet. Hopefully, they should be more positive since things are looking up. I’m confident the kids will be back in person full time in the fall.

+1. And 100k will get them a one bedroom apartment and not much in the way of savings in the city.

I haven't read all the responses, but I certainly don't begrudge Principals earning $100K+. I could find an easy job earning $125+ with 40 hours per week, no management duties, and some telework. These Principals work 60+ hours per week, constantly work evenings and weekends, have constant employee issues, have their personal lives take second place to whatever fire they need to put out, etc. I'm actually quite angry at the way some Principals have behaved lately, but I think it's a bargain to pay them $150K or less.

I do wonder if its one or just a few. I talk to friends and no one has issues with teachers or WTU.

We might think that one teacher is doing more or "happier" in front of the kids vs. another one but its a pandemic so such is life.

And we are all confident the kids will be back IPL in the fall - maybe with masks, staggered starts, etc. but back.

I wish these angry people would move on, so others can have some honest conversations about public education. The trolls are getting insane.

Because it's hard to teach low SES students, in neighborhoods where shootings (unrelated to the school occur). Instead of trying to be facetious perhaps look at DC's teacher and admin turnover rate.

Why do most teachers leave within 5 years?

100k is nothing in this area. Dumbest thread ever

Someone with an easy master's degree is not highly educated, and certainly not for DC.

Then you go get this easy master's degree and show us how its done. Because that easy master's degree doesn't cost money, doesn't require 50 hours of free labor to apprentice?

Yeah - I always love to trash female dominated professions. BTW doctors and lawyers are next as women's roles are growing there too.
