Thank you, All! This has been very helpful. Thank you for the good tips and for the tip on the Loudoun Showcase. We'll try to watch some of those games.

FYI FCV 07 is playing Loudoun 06 Red team not 06 ECNL team from Loudoun

McLean 2005 team has 24 players. Arlington 2005 team has 16 players. It is not necessary to carry 24 players on a team when only 11 can play at at time and 18 can be rostered. There is a reason only 18 players can be rostered

24 players? That is insane. Why would anyone sign-up for that?

To compete amongst the best. That’s why girls prefer McLean to Arlington at the moment. Just wait until Arlington girls get ECNL then it’ll be a different environment.

Your not competing if you’re watching from the bench.

Injuries, injuries, injuries. If no injuries it will be the first time ever. Also if playing in college is the goal, might as well get used to it as most college programs have between 25-30 players.

the 24th player on an 18 person roster isn't playing in college. It would take 6 injuries for them to even earn the privilege of dressing to watch games from the bench

The 18th player isn't going to get recruited or even play. It would take another 6 injuries for them to even earn the privilege of sniffing the pitch. I guess on the positive side you can tell any college recruiter that you have years of practice warming the bench for the starters and that you'd be excited for the opportunity to bench warm in college!

You people are ridiculous-there are still great D3 schools that lower level GA and ECNL players can go to and would be welcomed. Doesn’t have to be D1 or bust!

No one said anything about D1. What D3 team will recruit the 18th player on a team? They may be recruited academically and soccer is an activity as part of an application but how can someone be recruited who barely plays?

And some 02's that graduated but college was online. So they were still eligible to play club and did - for the fall

Heed the FCV warnings seriously. It's a toxic environment.

All I know is that McLean's U18/19 team last year that was one of the stronger teams in the nation had 24 girls go DI. Several others on that same roster (26+) went to competitive D3 programs. The names included Florida, Florida State, Georgetown and Duke. I don't know how the coach managed but that is an impressive accomplishment for a roster of 26+.

^^^And that age group was when McLean and FCV were the only ECNL teams and prior to the DA inception and demise. We will see what happens ongoing, this is likely the last class for such recruiting to be happening.
