I thought the old money comment was sarcastic, but I don’t care because summer sausage is delicious. |
Oh ha! I guess I’m just too full of cured meat to detect sarcasm. |
|
OP here
Thanks everyone for reminding me of all the good crackers out there. I totally forgot about triscuits! And I love triscuits!! They are dry, so I think I’m going to drop Swiss and add goat cheese. |
Goat cheese is too fancy, you need a port wine cheese ball (j/k) |
Make sure you use the little toothpicks that look like swords!!
|
It wasn’t supposed to be sarcastic. Some people have no need to “put on the dog” and that is a delicious snack. |
| Milton’s Everything Crackers. yum! |
| Triscuit Thin Crisps. Yum... |
I'd vote for the Pepperidge Farm Cracker Trio. The Golden Butter crackers are my favorite ever, the wheat ones are increasingly addictive, and there are also water crackers in there for toppings where you don't want a strong cracker flavor interfering.

OP Here
Well looks like Christmas dinner is on hold, so no need for cheese and crackers. We’ve been exposed to Covid and need to quarantine for 7-10 days. (Shakes fist at the sky and screams) Damn you 2020!!! |
| OP, I hope you don't get covid. If you pull through, consider my vote for pretzel thins. |
My dad and I had a discussion once. He said that Club crackers were the best. Growing up, his parents always had regular old Ritz, but when he went to his grandparents, they had Club crackers which were special, so he decided when he grew up and could buy his own crackers, he'd always get the good stuff, Club crackers. As a result, I grew up with Club crackers being the regular, everyday crackers, but when I went to my grandarents (his parents), they had Ritz crackers which were obviously special, so when I grew up, I decided to leave those plain old Club crackers behind, and get the good ones - Ritz. |
You can still eat summer sausage! |
|
I am confused by the old money comment too, sarcastic or not, but it is hard to beat summer sausage and pub cheese or sharp cheddar. One of the many "inheritances" I treasure from my dad's (very humble!) Wisconsin roots! |
