You can’t honestly deny that some of the rhetoric from the left isn’t basically expressed as “white men have been in power too long, so it is time to give others a turn.” And often this is expressed by white women blind to their own privilege.

So that puts some young white men in a box. They personally may have enjoyed privilege, but they may be getting the message not just that they should respect the abilities and potential of others, but also sit down and stand back at the game of life so others can take charge. They may be in their 20s and 30s but they are already being treated like “dead white males” in certain circles.

It’s a shame there isn’t a more nuanced way to deal with them. It’s a shame to older liberals to see so many younger Proud Boy types. The tension isn’t going to abate simply because Trump leaves if the goal of the left is make everyone as uncomfortable in their own skin as oppressed minorities may have been. I’m not sure this country has much of a future with that mindset.

We also should be calling out the hypocrisy of billion dollar industries that have huge pay gap disparities for female models compared to male models. Men should be getting paid more in the fashion industry.

Some mom at my kids’ old school kept trying to get everyone behind some pro-boys movement and was scheduling speakers and such, asking people to pay. It would be nice if I could tune in to NPR and just once -- -once -- hear a white male announcer. Usually it is a female with a foreign accent that I can't understand. And the topic is typically how white men are the root of all evil in the world.

Why do men have so much more wealth than women?
Why are women (and children) so much more likely to wind up in poverty compared to men?
Why do men hold more than 50% of Congressional seats when they make up less than half of the population?
Why has there never been a female President?
Why are women so much more likely to die from domestic violence than men?
Why are so many more women the victim of sexual assault compared to men?
Why are there so many missing girls and women in the world?
Why are the top companies and firms run by men?
Why have four times as many women dropped out of the work force compared to men during the pandemic?

Why do men die are exponentially higher rates due to violence overall compared to women? That includes issues like workplace violence.
Why are more than ~95% of fatalities on the job men?
Why are women so risk adverse, according to numerous studies, yet then complain about why they have less wealth and don't run companies? Duh, no one is gonna reward you for less risk taking.
Why isn't there more focus on men's health wrt COVID, when many reports now show that the coronavirus is deadlier for men than women?
Why do women overwhelmingly win custody battles in court for children when parents separate?
Why are men more likely to die from suicide?
Why are 70% of individuals who are homeless men?
Also, when looking at homeless, why do women get higher rates of shelter than men?
Why do workplaces overwhelmingly give moms time off for childcare, yet men get nothing?
Why do men get 63% longer prison sentences than women for the same exact crimes?
Why are women more likely to have health insurance than men?

I completely disagree that the left is doing this...but even if I accept your premise, what is your solution? Why is it "the left"'s responsibility to solve the problem of a society being structured to privilege white men? What did anyone think was going to happen? Oppressed people should not have to take the feelings of their oppressors into account!

Unless all white men think that the status quo is fine, why aren't more of them proposing solutions that aren't so oppressive to white men?

These aren't true though. That's their perception. When more than half the jobs are held by women, and people of color hold positions in the same percentages as their representation in the community, then everything is equal. These men are just used to white males being predominate. They don't like the change. They need to ask why.

I am sure if you look at actual data, more than 50% of protagonists are male. Likely far more. So I'm not sure why he can't find representation.

For PP, try Wild Krafts, Daniel Tiger, Sesame Street, or for older, mandalorian, avatar the last airbender, series of unfortunate events, black Panther, Antman, lego movie....if you’re sincere, I can think of another dozen plus pretty easily. I also have a son and this is totally not a problem.

I totally agree that men have problems unique to them that we should be thinking about more...it seems to me that their own toxic masculinity is eating them away from the inside. The reason they are so angry about losing privilege and status is that they’ve been taught for so long that this is the basis of their worth as a person and that it’s their responsibility as a man to use their wealth and privilege to shelter their loved ones. I see it even in guys who are pretty feminist—this creeping fear and anxiety that they can’t meet that expectation. It comes out as anger, sleeplessness, heart conditions, alcoholism, etc. Its really sad—the make mystique that is as toxic as the feminine mystique.
