You're right, it is just that I work a lot and this is not what I was hoping to do with my Saturday. I normally enjoy seeing my kid play, but there won't be much joy in this. Oh well. |
I would think players and spectators are different but even then, if it's an 11 v 11 game you're going to have one (or no) no subs per team and parents get to flip a coin to see who gets to go watch their kid play?!? At the risk of stating the obvious, COVID really sucks.

Totally get that... Do you have any errands you could run? I think there's a Target and a fair number of random stores not too far from there. You could go out to Middleburg for lunch? There are at least some little things you might be able to squeeze in if you don't feel like spending the entire day driving to/from Haymarket and want to do something at least remotely enjoyable or productive. |
Thanks, will check out those suggestions. I appreciate it. |
| I know at least 3 clubs that will fold with another lockdown. |
You're welcome |
Is haymarket the same as this? https://fcsc.demosphere-secure.com/hunt-country-classic That gap was difficult for me also but I know how much it means to my ds so I was going to deal with it. |
Yup. My son is still going because my husband just offered to drive him instead. |
Ok thanks. *if* it still happens, thanks also to pp for the suggestions of places to go. |
| FWIW our club only has one more game and then we will soon go into a pause between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don’t see the lockdown too drastically altering things during this built in break |
| This all makes me sad, soccer was the one thing that was really helping with all of this with low transmission risk. It makes me so angry that so many people aren't taking this seriously. |
Not sure what you're moaning about, the new order allows for soccer to continue. It's the spectators that are limited. |
Loudoun parent here. I hope this isn’t the case. Last Spring our club said they’d fold it another lockdown were to occur. I pray to God this never comes to fruition. I’ve sent emails and called Richmond. |
Same here. My club plays Nations Capital cup this weekend. One team pulled out due to covid. Now this Northam call for restrictions. However, as much as I don't want it, I’m almost certain there’ll be a big strict lockdown during/after winter/flu season. Another Spring without sports. |
| I work for a member of Congress — won’t say who. While this is obviously a state by state issue, I can say that Virginia leadership will buckle down even harder. The problem is people have a tough time listening to health officials. With the winter season already a time when flu and illnesses spike, the State will take stronger preventative steps quicker this time. Ive already planned accordingly and I think everyone who can afford private trainers, and small group sessions should consider their options if clubs soccer has to close down. Don’t want my player to fall behind |
