| Or do you think soccer will continue as is? |
|
Yes. Things will be buttoned up a bit Im sure.
If not in MD, in our surrounding states for sure. hit a record today with new cases. |
|
First, it is going to be a local and state issue. No federal lockdown will happen before January, and even then, I really doubt the federal government will do it (principally because they will face a revolt across numerous states and won't be able to enforce it).
Second, I think the lockdowns are far more likely to affect bars and restaurants. Outdoor youth sports seem like a less plausible target. But third, governments have not shown any ability to be selective in applying judgment to any of these situations, so nothing would surprise me at this point. |
| It feels like it’s coming but who knows. |

Virginia just announced it - gatherings now limited to 25. Tournaments this weekend are probably still on, after that, I'd expect cancellations. Indoor is almost certainly off

| How does this apply to soccer in VA? https://www.wric.com/news/virginia-news/gov-ralph-northam-announces-statewide-covid-19-restrictions/ |
Northam just announced 25 person limit on public gatherings effective Sunday. Sports are done for a while. |
|
Yes. Anne arundal and Baltimore county stopping youth sports. Travel sports stopping in NE.
It’s not that games are the source of spread - (though the socializing around tournaments could be). It just seems an easy one for them to stop with less economic impact. It’s just a shame because kids in virtual school and 9 months of this takes a toll on kids mental health. |
Odd that the soccer tournaments are still going on with the 25 person limit still. |
Starts Monday |
| For sure |
| Yes. VA announced today. |
Well, frankly homeschool and working all day with three kids as a single mom and then having to take them to 3000 sports all night long is shit for me, and shit for MY mental health. I need to continue working and they need to continue learning, but the driving to games I Couldn't watch and practices where my other kids couldn't play on the playground etc, feeling uncomfortable being asked to fly for club lax etc......i need it to end. I am glad that some consistency is entering the equation, because this has been a crap situation. |
