I am terribly sorry to hear this PP. It’s a disgusting shame to see politicians and stakeholders playing political chess games with a 99.96% survival rate virus.

The real pandemic are the mental health issues and isolation-induced thoughts/feelings our youth have and will continue to experience.

Pp here. Thank you. It is hard not to feel bad about how this pandemic has impacted our kids. I do hope they get to play this fall.

Out of curiosity, where are you getting a 99.96 survival rate from? Reason I ask is a friend keeps bringing up that same number but can't/won't tell me where he got it. I've seen .3% IFR for my age group (and 10% for my parents), which is concerning enough for me. .6% overall is a number I've seen a few times as well.

I'm not in a bubble, my kid is practicing 3-4 times a week, has had summer league games, a tournament, and will continue to play - but I'm very curious where that 99.96% number is coming from.

One study estimated the Infection Fatality Rate at 0.3% for 50-59 and 10% for 80-89. To put that in perspective that is less than 1 in 300 and about 1 in 10.

An individual's risk may be higher or lower depending on risk factors.

Treatments are evolving. Fatalities increase among the elderly in areas where they are not treated.

There is also some evidence that the virus may have become more infectious and less deadly due to mutations.

Northam will force a lockdown and therefore execute any and all hopes of youth soccer which will consequently put many clubs out for good.

NCSL has a BOD meeting on Monday. Dont be surprised if schedules are pushed out until then. Either way I think they will get released like other leagues but could change at any time.

So what you are saying is:
If you are on the "unlucky" end of the stats...too bad.
Let them play soccer. Let's not do as much as we can to prevent more deaths.

Extremism and ignorance at it's finest.

Haven't seen any studies that has shown kids going insane.
Also, there is a difference between not going to soccer and locking kids away.
Get a clue...

if you don't want them mingling with team mates- do you want them mingling with friends - I thought you wanted to do everything to stop covid?

LOL
You just proved my point. Extremism.
You aren't worth an argument.
Too stupid to understand what the difference is.

Still waiting for that study where the kids are going insane? Then again, you probably don't believe in science so you don't have any studies to reference to.
