PP here. Mostly covid related. Financial issues, kids don't feel comfortable playing, or kids just lost interest. Kind of sad to see it happening since the kids were doing so well pre-covid. I am concerned they don't even have enough to field a team.
I am terribly sorry to hear this PP. It’s a disgusting shame to see politicians and stakeholders playing political chess games with a 99.96% survival rate virus. The real pandemic are the mental health issues and isolation-induced thoughts/feelings our youth have and will continue to experience.
Out of curiosity, where are you getting a 99.96 survival rate from? Reason I ask is a friend keeps bringing up that same number but can't/won't tell me where he got it. I've seen .3% IFR for my age group (and 10% for my parents), which is concerning enough for me. .6% overall is a number I've seen a few times as well. One study estimated the Infection Fatality Rate at 0.3% for 50-59 and 10% for 80-89. To put that in perspective that is less than 1 in 300 and about 1 in 10. An individual's risk may be higher or lower depending on risk factors. Treatments are evolving. Fatalities increase among the elderly in areas where they are not treated. There is also some evidence that the virus may have become more infectious and less deadly due to mutations.
So what you are saying is: If you are on the "unlucky" end of the stats...too bad. Let them play soccer. Let's not do as much as we can to prevent more deaths. WTH
