Elsie or Daisy?

So please give her a more generic name that she can use if she doesn't like it - like the upthread suggestion of Margaret for Daisy -- and just use Daisy as a nickname.

I am so sorry and don't mean to pile on, but as another data point, my first thought was "oh, those are both cows," too.

Daisy -- Kitchen maid on Downton Abbey.

You beat me to it.

Why not Mary, Edith, Sybil, Cora or Violet -- so much better to choose upstairs names.

I'm going to call my next cat Mrs. Patmore.

My great-grandmother was Daisy. I have always loved that name.

Daisy is cute. Elsie is a cow's name. Please don't.

I don't like both of them.

Elsie sounds like a nickname.

I think Elsie is beautiful (and the name of a very sweet aunt)

I think you meant to post this in the pets forum.

I think the cow comparisons are mean and unlikely to come through unless you have twins and name both kids Elsie and Daisy.

Per Behind the Name Elsie is a diminutive of Elizabeth https://www.behindthename.com/name/elsie

A bit close to Elsa for me but still a very cute name.

It is. It's a nickname for Elizabeth.

I immediately thought of cows when I saw this thread. I’m sorry, OP.

Any other options?

Sorry. Both remind me of cow names or dog names. They also both fail the Supreme Court Justice test in my opinion.
