People you’re attracted to and you don’t know why

I agree it might be chemistry or just the common attraction to power (or a weird attraction to disgusting?) but in any event, it is totally embarassing.

The old politically incorrect attraction. My friend’s very liberal, Democrat mom thought George W. Bush’s oozed sexiness and was horrified. The libido is ruthlessly apolitical.

OMG - same. I was horrified to be attracted to GWB.

Really old tenured university professors
Young Hispanic men who don’t speak English
Really smart old men
Black men in tailored suits
Men with certain type of hands

What about finding a black man in a tailored suit is weird? Are you saying that being attracted to a man in a tailored suit is weird? Or that being attracted to a black man is weird?

Omg calm down, it’s a niche that’s why it’s weird. Just like very old university tenured professors, black men in tailored suits is a very specific niche people find attractive. Not everything is racist.

My child's teacher, who is overweight, self-centered and mercurial, yet rather charismatic and somehow weirdly attractive.

I don't know how it happened, but one day I complimented the school principal on his necktie. I'm a textile designer and neckties are one of the product lines I design for. Anyhow, next thing I know this strong feeling overcomes me. Hits me like a wave. A guy that I didn't pay attention to for a couple years I'm suddenly magnetically drawn to. I still don't understand how it happened. And a year later I still feel this way. I'm married so I try to stay away.

It has happened to me with young hispanic guys.

A man at my lunch table during a conference. He was short, slim but not fit, average looking, thin lips, with one corner slightly curled up. I don't remember if the table was chatty or quiet, but I did not say anything. I could not take my eyes off his lips. After lunch we parted without introducing to each other. I would have followed him if he made any hint. 20 years later I still remember him. Crazy.

For some reason, I think the comedian/actor from SNL Pete Davidson is insanely hot. 🔥

I am a fifty-one year old F who’s own kids are 31, 29 + 28 respectively.
Yes, I do realize that my crush is two years younger than my youngest child.

But he is just so honest, real, hilarious + cute that I cannot stop ogling over him.

Of course, everyone I tell says that I have bad taste in men.
That he is too pale, skinny and looks strung out on drugs.
That he looks like he has “bug eyes” and has dark circles.

Well, everything is racist. But this is no more racist than anything else.

If this is how you view the world and every single person in it, and EVERYTHING they do, then you need to get off of DCUM and find a cabin in the wilderness so you can extract yourself from the rest of the human race.

Me too!
I'm also attracted to the youngish gym teacher at my school despite him being the opposite of my usual type.

Anonymous wrote:Bill Maher. And I am not a troll! I think he is an ugly man, but I had a very erotic dream a few months ago where we had a connection, almost like soul mates and very hot sex. I did not tell anyone in person as it is embarrassing.

I also think Bill Maher is very sexy and very smart. Even as he ages. He has dated a long string of beautiful women and models at times, so we are certainly not the only ones. And he is hilarious, which counts for a lot.

I'm a conservative Ph.D, no interest in football, prefer nerdy men... watched "namath" documentary last night on hbo, overwhelmed by the charisma of joe namath in the 70's. Not hard to understand but wow...just wow.

For a while I was so drawn to my OB. I am an RN but not in L&D or peds or anything and am used to interacting with other medical professionals/doctors all the time. He was a little bit fat, short, starting to bald but oh so charismatic. Also he was the best dang doctor I've ever had and basically saved me and child from a very late term complication that could have cost me my child. But I was majorly crushing on him the whole pregnancy and was so sad at my last visit and was like ok see you in a year for my annual!

I found the older I got, the more I understood those seemingly weird crushes -- you start to see the subtle patterns between them. I have found that it's a mix of multiple characteristics -- if they only have one, I'm not attracted, but you add them together -- Boom! I was watching a series during quarantine and there was one guy I was okay with, but he grew a beard in later seasons and I was all about him. He had always had some preferred characteristics -- (rugged, directness, protective) but once the beard was in, I was having dreams.
