Campgrounds opened in MD last week.

We will not just "stay home," and squander the beautiful weather.

Instead, we'll:

--Get our boat in the water. Swim, sunbathe, tow the inner tube around the lake!!

--Go kayaking with friends

--Play basketball, tennis, bocce, volleyball, horseshoes with close friends, once the stay home order is lifted in our state.

--Have outdoor social distanced bbqs

--Go camping at private campgrounds where they offer a lot of fun activities and ability to be outdoors with nature

--Find small hotels that are open, with open swimming pools.

The risks in outdoor activities is proven to be small. So we will enjoy the great outdoors in 2020.

Sooo... you are committed to being wealthy? Clap clap clap?

I’m with you op, quite funny that the people who sanctimoniously recounted how they were going to have the delivery men running around for them all summer with their kids locked inside are taking offense to this thread.

I expect phase 2 will start in mid June. At that point, hoping kids can resume day camps and sports.

With beaches already opening, hoping to get two weeks at the beach. Still hopeful that our small private swim club is open for at least part of the summer.

Looking forward to returning to restaurants in second half of summer as well.

At least some in Va open this weekend.

I think all of these are ok except the last one. What’s the point of going to a hotel with a pool if you already have a lake for swimming?

Why don't have your own pool? Peasant.

I don’t see anything on that list that requires much wealth. Have fun, OP!

I'm just going to park my camper at a campground and isolate there. Got my own bathroom, shower, grill. I can isolate by the lake, under the trees and roast marshmallows.

OP here. Thanks. I hope your pool is open!

It is so amazing to me that people are so meanspirited. It shows what their mindset is. Even the swipe at small hotels with a pool! Meanwhile, people talking about European vacations. Our used kayaks and old pontoon boat aren't fancy. My teens have sworn off them in the past year -- but it's all looking more appealing to them now. We are just trying to look at things with a glass half-full viewpoint.

Kids are pool fans. Lake is "dirty."

Pool is on our bucket list for our retirement home.

Good plan, op. Everyone can do this.

No, we will take plenty of precautions. But we won't keep our kids locked away, screwing over their summer for our own paranoia.

You know, most of us have JOBS.
Have you heard of those things?

It's kind of difficult to go boating and swimming all summer when you have to WORK for 40 hours per week.

Perhaps those of us who are less upbeat about the pending 3.5 months have this small detail to work around.

We have jobs as well. But there are long summer nights and weekends, right?

What is the point of this post? Not rhetorical, I am actually asking.

This angsty hand-wringing for the poor teenagers really rubs me the wrong way. Like younger kids, young adults, older adults, etc. somehow don't have it as bad? But OH THE POOR TEENS!!!

GMAFB. It sucks for everyone.

And vacation time. Still have some of that to use. Might as well make it fun.
