We will not just "stay home," and squander the beautiful weather. Instead, we'll: --Get our boat in the water. Swim, sunbathe, tow the inner tube around the lake!! --Go kayaking with friends --Play basketball, tennis, bocce, volleyball, horseshoes with close friends, once the stay home order is lifted in our state. --Have outdoor social distanced bbqs --Go camping at private campgrounds where they offer a lot of fun activities and ability to be outdoors with nature --Find small hotels that are open, with open swimming pools. The risks in outdoor activities is proven to be small. So we will enjoy the great outdoors in 2020.
I’m with you op, quite funny that the people who sanctimoniously recounted how they were going to have the delivery men running around for them all summer with their kids locked inside are taking offense to this thread. I expect phase 2 will start in mid June. At that point, hoping kids can resume day camps and sports. With beaches already opening, hoping to get two weeks at the beach. Still hopeful that our small private swim club is open for at least part of the summer. Looking forward to returning to restaurants in second half of summer as well.
OP here. Thanks. I hope your pool is open! It is so amazing to me that people are so meanspirited. It shows what their mindset is. Even the swipe at small hotels with a pool! Meanwhile, people talking about European vacations. Our used kayaks and old pontoon boat aren't fancy. My teens have sworn off them in the past year -- but it's all looking more appealing to them now. We are just trying to look at things with a glass half-full viewpoint.
