You have 20,000 spectators at your rec sports... wow!

If the schools are not open or they are doing social distancing at school they are not playing sports. Travel teams are made up of kids from 6-8 different schools playing team from different states. It’s a great way to spread the virus. With travel sports it’s not about the spectators it’s about the kids interacting, but you know this already. How in the hell would you do the Jeff cup?

Why am I getting a feeling that you think Big Don is a stable genius.

No I don't. I think he's an idiot. But I know people who have worked with and for Fauci.

Somebody needs to get their hair did.

There is a bunch of ignorant people posting here. We understand you are frustrated because your kids can’t go back to practice and play soccer but so everyone else is. Be realistic!!!! You can say whatever you want to ease your frustrations, criticize the experts and families for staying safe, the reality is that we’re going through one of the worst pandemics. Your WORDS won’t change the reality and won’t bring back all people who have died. If you are as brave why don’t you and your family get to help and volunteer in hospitals? You want to go out? There is a lot of help needed and vacancies currently with first responders and hospitals.

No need to go through all the details on this board. But suffice it to say there is a large amount of evidence, and many professors and other experts who completely disagree with this statement. And countries and states which have not locked down and are not seeing disastrous outcomes. There is also evidence that children are not significant vectors for this virus, and that it does not spread outdoors.

And as proof of such ignorance, the country is behind of an end of this crisis. If we had listened and acted EARLY, right now we would be near the end of the lockdown. Instead it seems that we are looking to extend this phenomenon by easing and opening business when we are NOT ready. If we don’t follow a plan and stick to the experts’ recommendations we’ll may be extending the lockdown for many more months than planned.
If you want your kid to Go back play soccer soon than later then HELP by Being responsible with your health and do NOT contaminate others with your misleading statements.

Did you guys really think fall sports were happening? If you did, you do not understand what is going on. It isn’t even likely that school will be back in person.

I wish people would stop thinking everything is a partisan political discussion. I'm not a Republican and I think Trump is a terrible leader. I also think Fauci is a bad apple. His actions are covered in this book and its sequel for example (which came out a couple of years ago and therefore predates the whole pandemic and so isn't politically motivated):

It doesn't paint a flattering portrait of Fauci at all.

As soon as the weather breaks, the entire US population will be outside.

The primary mode of transmission for Covid is breathing in respiratory droplets from an infected person that is nearby. Hand sanitizer will do nothing for that.

In past pandemic 1957 and 1968 the spread was correlated to schools opening. In 1957 the spread peaked in October with another peak in January/Feb and in 1968 the spread flat lined as Christmas holiday closed schools. The schools are a primary vector for spread. So let’s see how California schools opening go. If California opens in July and there is a peak in August, other states will may or may not keep schools closed. If they do open schools do you think each school should try to keep its population isolated(as best they can) from other school? So if you have an out break at one school you just close one school? What priority do you think travel soccer(multi schools and multi states expose) will be?

You think you are far more informed on this issue than you truly are. You do not appear to understand this at all.

Talking to you and trying to explain how a common and widely spread virus works is pointless. If you understood how extremely UNcontainable this virus is you would probably run off screaming into the woods...or at least into the far corner of your closet.

This virus will either burn itself out, or it won't We won't know until it happens or doesn't happen. Thankfully it is not nearly as deadly as was once feared. Not all global pandemics are deadly.

I assume those of you hoping for no sports don't have high school athletes who have worked for years looking toward getting recruited for college? So many kids will be devastated to go back to school without sports in the fall, for many valid reasons. Why can't all these thousands of elite medical professionals figure this out?
Anonymous
I'm tired. Let all the people who want to get sick asap send their kids out to do rec sports because that is apparently so important. Just go ahead and do it. You don't have to wait for the state, have your kids organize teams in their neighborhood like in the old days and get it over with.
