Wake Forest vs Boston College vs Villanova

Just be aware that Villanova does have a very large Greek presence. You don't have to be Greek, but they do have a strong Greek community.

They are all good schools. I would vote for Boston College. It has the best location and a nice campus. Students hang out on campus and go into the city. There is a strong network in both Boston and New York for finance jobs. It is a really nice school and students love it. They love the school and the city!

I, along with my children, have visited all 3 schools. I would chose BC.

We are looking at all three schools too. On paper they seem similar. So hard now when you can’t go visit. I think that BC might have a very slight name recognition edge and I thought that Wake did not do direct admission for business. Please let us know what you decide and how next year goes. All great options!

Good point.
Admission to the School of Business undergraduate program is by formal application, and applicants are screened by the School’s Committee on Admissions, Continuation, and Scholarships. Before being considered for admission to the School of Business, the applicant first must have been admitted to Wake Forest University. Minimum requirements for admission to the Wake Forest School of Business undergraduate program are as follows:

Completion of 49 hours with a cumulative WFU grade point average of 2.85. Completion of the following courses with a minimum grade of C in each course:
...
The number of students who can be accommodated is limited. Meeting the minimum requirements is not a guarantee of admission. Therefore, the School of Business reserves the right to deny admission or readmission to any student even though he or she meets the minimum requirements. Readmission to the Wake Forest University School of Business undergraduate program must be approved by the Committee on Admissions, Continuation, and Scholarships but first requires readmission to Wake Forest University, requirements for which are provided in this bulletin.

“Slight name recognition “
Under statement of the century.

So you love or hate Wake? Personally, I think it is an amazingly challenging school.

It might be good school.
Just don’t compare it with BC for National name recognition.

We toured BC. Granted it has great name recognition but we were disappointed in the overall environment. We didn't think that the school provided adequately for overall well being. Once again, all are good choices. Let the student deter where they wish to go if money is not a factor. We asked our daughter and she said that she would prefer Wake or Nova but that was our daughter. Best of luck.

National name recognition for most schools is really through sports. They are in the same conference, and Tim Duncan was more recent than Doug Flutie. I think they are thought of as schools at a similar level.

Wake Forest: Pleasant setting for preppy types

BC: Decent core curriculum for those willing to work

Villanova: Exists for those that didn't gain admission to ND

Could the same not be said for BC?

Much preferred BC and Villanova to Wake. Wake too Greek, more isolated and no direct admit to business school. Between BC and Villanova maybe choose based on where student wants to be for internships and career prospects.
