| Not a micro biologist. I disagree. Cleanliness of bodies and environment definitely reduces risk from virus/bacteria/allergens etc. Enjoy the air out there but please wash your parts for the sake of the rest of us. |
Correct. It's STILL a coronavirus and this susceptible to washing, UV-C, etc. |
What are your credentials? |
I’m OP. In addition to cruises, this is also why this can quickly impact an entire senior care facility — HVAC system circulating the virus? |
This |
Why? No one knows enough about this virus for there to be solid recommendations. This is a VERY qualified individual giving his opinion. |
Doctor Osterholm said the outbreak likely began in November. I do not believe anyone in the US noticed until December 31st — and that was a “flu blogger” in Florida — The Post profiled the blogger yesterday. But your point is well taken — the N95 masks should have been ramping up in January at least. https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/media/the-first-reporter-in-the-western-world-to-spot-the-coronavirus-crisis-was-a-blogger-in-florida/2020/03/13/244f39e6-6476-11ea-acca-80c22bbee96f_story.html |
| It's true it's airborne. I once caught the flu when walking thru an open space and I felt me inhale the Germs and get sick at that moment. However where can one get n95 masks now? |
| Also there are some cultures here who aren't accustomed to covering their mouths when they sneeze or have a habit of sneezing into sinks. |
| Of course masks help. The government is saying they don't because they know no masks are available to Americans. |
In other words: Lying. |
Ugh, whut? |
We also sent 16 tons of masks to China. Good call. |
| Spread is through air and some scientists have also noted through oral / fecal transfer. It can be in the air up to 3 hours and on survive on surfaces up to 3 days. Please wash your hands! Clean your counters when you bring bags from outside that you set onto counters Clean your mobile phones, etc Don't touch your eyes, mouth, nose where you can transfer this virus into your system. This is a yes AND not a this way and not that way of transferring . Also keep in mind this is a new virus so we are learning as we go . |
| It is airborne like the flu and measles, but is can also be transmitted on hands and surfaces. No reason washing hands and cleaning surfaces doesn’t help. It lives there longer than in the air. |
