I was spanked a few times as a young child (only ever on the bum) and each time it was well deserved.
Under Norwegian laws I would be taken away by the child authorities and my parents investigated. Rather scary when I think about it. |
I agree and I was only mildly spanked too. Frankly, some kids need it. My sister was wild and one time she tried to run into a main street (this was not the first time). She was a second from being killed by a passing car. My mom had finally grabbed her shirt before she was in the street, then she got spanked. She never ran out in the street again. |
| This seems like Americans who go to countries with extreme laws about drug use, smoke weed, and are surprised when they end up in crappy prisons. If you're going to another country, it's advisable to have a basic understanding of what's allowed and what's not allowed. If you believe in corporal punishment, don't move to Norway. |
| Norway puts kids first, like kids' rights are sacred.Royal kids choose the statues for the Royal park... don't mess with kids in Norway! |
| Dad looks like a perv. |
It's possible that he was merely the victim of Trump's more aggressive deportation tactics but more likely that there was a crime in his background that led to his deportation. It was not just one step that led to the family's current predicament. It was many. |
LOL! Norway wants the kids, but not the perv dad! Kids are cute, them Lithuanians must be beating the crap out of the kids. |
Were you home schooled by any chance? What would “born Americans” have anything to do with it since the family was living in Norway? This situation also has nothing to do with the family being Christian. It has to do with being “foreign” in a country with stringent laws and a bias against people not born there plus a botched murder investigation of an 8 year old killed by his Lithuanian stepfather: https://www.newsinenglish.no/2014/10/22/childs-murder-unleashes-police-critics/ |

Lithuanians are famous drunks. Most drunk out of all EU countries. Norwegians are famous drunks too! Imagine how much more you need to drink to out drink Norwegians who got on cruises to drink themselves into oblivion?
Plus, I am suspicious of these religious Lithuanians too! Parents of these parents were raised totally atheist, as in religion was against the law, so what's with the fake Christian rhetoric? Having said that, I am suspicious of any parent that "raises" their kids in some sect like family, uses religion as justification to abuse the kids. |
| What is the update on this family? Did they return the kids ? |
In case you haven't noticed, mainstream media outlets get to choose what kind of stories they cover. Let's just say that there is a wide swath of society that doesn't get much notice. So, you take what you can get. |
| haha! Norwegians do not do hitting of children and typically have very well-behaved kids. Pentecostal children believe in spanking as apart of their religious beliefs. Spare the rod, spoil the child. Oops. Cultural mishap. |
Yes I remember a post from a couple years ago where a mom was reported to CPS by daycare because of the bruises left on her child from cupping. |
That wasn't cupping, it was coining. Get your terms right. And, it is considered abusive here. |
You are wrong. You are perpetuating child abuse with comments like that. Many children of all different sorts of personalities are successfully raised without ever being hit. No kid NEEDS to be hit. I can’t even believe this is a debate in a modern country 2022. I mean honestly WTF? |
