This is the thing, he's a guy in his 20s who is probably deciding to date based on crazy sex.

This. It's not uncommon for promiscuity and mental illness to walk hand-in-hand. He's looking for sex and not bothering to vetthese women beforehand.

She didn't like that and you can guess where things went from there.

This girl is a master manipulator and was quite savvy for an 8th grader and my son was not (and still isn't) quite as savvy. The fallout for him was awful and he ended up leaving the school mid year.

Thankfully we documented everything.

Your son should probably not date for a while. He should be enjoying his 20's hanging out with friends and advancing his career.

Wow! Just like the OP’s situation. Except this isn’t one girl, but several women and OP’s son is not a 14 year old boy.

“Vette”? Pretty and fun: a guy doesn’t say no to that. “Vette”: ha!

If there's a pattern of your son dating multiple women who are like this, then he's the problem. It's probably white knight syndrome. It's sort of similar to women who chronically attracted to "bad boys." There's a high that comes from feeling like you can save or reform the other person.

It's interesting that more women seem to be mentally challenged than men.

More depression and anxiety among women, but more sociopathy among men. Men are also less likely to seek treatment when they do have depression or anxiety. They self-medicate with alcohol/street drugs or suicide.

Generally speaking it’s sex with a woman who authentically and genuinely enjoys it. You hear guys in their 20s talk a lot about sleeping with women who act like it was a gift that they gave them and the men should be happy to have received it. That sex sucks. Good sex is a sex with a girl who is into it. Unfortunately, that’s usually relegated to the crazy ones. On the upside, they tend to be incredibly hot.

My theory is they have strong orgasms and the hormones make them nuts for the guy.

Wow! You cracked the secret. Only crazy women enjoy sex. The jig is up, Ladies! No more pretending we like anything better than cats.

What are the warning signs of mental illness that he us missing?? How do you detect crazy in the dating pool?

DS is lying if he says all these women are severely mentally ill but somehow he can’t tell for several months.

The alternative is that DS meets women with mild mental illness, then he makes them much, much worse through gaslighting and other behaviors. My sociopathic dad this to his first wife, my mom, and wife #3. All were mildly neurotic women that he manipulated.

Are you saying that someone can't hid their crazy for the first few months of a relationship?

No, someone can't hide their crazy for even a week, let alone a few. Inths, LOL!

I'd suggest you MYOB. You are way out of your swim lane.

According to one of my male friends, “the hot ones are always crazy”

If you believe Imago therapy we subconsciously find ourselves attracted to what was normal in our childhood. My mom has NPD and then I married one.

So it looks like your son is just accidentally repeating patterns and you are crazy, OP.

OP, the common denominator in all of those relationships is your son, so perhaps he needs to do a little self-reflection on why he’s so attracted to a particular type of woman.
