Target new redesign is the PITS

Yes, I really dislike it. I miss actual aisles. The clothing areas (especially the kids area) are too hard to navigate, almost impossible sometimes if you have a cart. The wheely racks are crammed in like 2 feet apart so you can hardly get through and look at what's there. It's awful.

Maybe Target is trying out the Costco strategy of displaying items in such a way that you’re forced to browse and, therefore, find items you didn’t even know you needed.

Oh. There are signs up at the Rockville, Md store about the pending remodel. Gaithersburg and Wheaton are still original.

Get ready.

The new design is awful.

Burke Target

It is not a Costco layout that makes you want to spend more money.

It is a department store/Jcpenney type layout, which has already been proven does not work.

My Costco is really easy to navigate. I know exactly where my regular items are located - I get in and out in record time. Then again, I go on a random weekday at like 2pm.

I can assure Target that I bought LESS from them this Christmas because of their new layout.

Ugh. I have disliked Target ever since they added groceries to ours. They lost so much room to sell stuff I wanted, now they only have limited options in what they do sell. Sad to hear it will soon be worse.

I used to shop at Target all the time before the redesign. I avoid it now. The lighting is really awful too in the new stores. I can't find anything because stuff is just randomly placed all over the store.

Why are lunchboxes in sporting goods, Bento boxes in with Tupperware and thermoses in housewares? Nonsensical.

I found Method hand soap today in the dish soap aisle but also in the body wash and razor aisle. No logic. Very weird to walk in and your immediate two sections are produce and beauty side by side. The shoe selection IS smaller too!

I hate it also. I’ve only been to the Burke Target once or twice since they reopened, I just buy online now to avoid going there.

I hate the new Target in Burke. It no longer feels like Target and just isn't as much fun to shop in.

Damn. I hoped everyone was complaining about the layout the Gaithersburg Target has. I consider that one to still be new and still getting used to it. Keep one layout! I’m talking to you, too, Safeway.

I'm glad to see this thread. I thought I was just being old and grumpy about the redesign. Count me in as another one who dislikes it. If their plan was to have us wander through the store and buy more, it isn't working for me. I find I go there much less now.

I don't like the huge target shopping basket end cap displays. It makes it very cluttered looking. I also just find their price points to really be rising steadily and I no longer find myself shopping there. Their kid clothes (IMO) are VERY overpriced. And they wait a lot longer to go on clearance. Same with kid shoes. 27.99 is the new starting price and for equal quality you can go to Payless for 8-12 bucks less.
