Hahaha. Nancy Reagan, is that you? Sorry, darling, DARE didn’t work.

No, we do not do this and never will.

So obviously you don’t drink alcohol or have anyone around your children who do.

My friend truly believes that smoking with her husband has made all the difference in the world in regard to their marriage. The two of them share a bowl or a joint after the kids are in bed and asleep a couple nights a week as a way to wind down and enjoy one another. My friend thinks she might be divorced by now if they did not have this outlet. I tend to agree with her...

Here was our list of benefits:
-Out of this world sex that is fun and feels fantastic! If you have not had sex high, then please add it to your bucket list (not going to lie, this was the number one thing for the both of us)
-Lots of great laughs and deep conversations that really allow you to get to know the other person on a deeper level
-A way to wind down together that does not lead to a terrible hangover, which when you get to your late 30's seems to be what happens when either of us drinks more than 2 glasses of wine
-We both wake up refreshed and ready for work/life/kids, etc without having to nurse a water and take half a bottle of Asprin.
-Exploration of new music together, or bonding over your favorite songs or bands...or even watching a binge-worthy Netflix show that makes you crack up
-It is more affordable than a night out/date night and just as much fun, if not more if you are with the right person

Anyway, we were curious about others in DC, who also see the benefits of smoking weed with a partner and if you have your own list of benefits?

What would you do if your child woke up with a medical emergency?

Do you not drink in the privacy of your own home because you have children? Or do all of your friends also not drink at home because they have kids? You would do the SAME thing if you had a couple of adult beverages. I highly doubt people with kids never have a drop to drink in case there is a medical emergency. DCUM always gives me a good laugh!

OP I 100% agree with you. We are in phase of life where we haven't smoked in quite awhile (pregnant, then breastfeeding, then pregnant not long after) but it was definitely great for our marriage and I have no doubt at some point in 5/10/whatever years it's something we'll do together again.

Aaaamen on the sex being amazing. And yes, it really is a fantastic and low key way to relax and unwind and bond

Why do people equate it to a glass of wine? It's just not true.
I just did some the other night and I felt out of my mind. Definitely not something I'd want to do regularly.

You did too much!!

Maybe not, people are different. When we were in DC my DH and I definitly enjoyed a couple hits off the cape together for the reasons OP mentioned. We moved a couple years ago and haven’t partaken in a while but did acquire a small amount and it was nice. My anxiety just melted away, but I was still very present...and lasts after the effects wear off. Wine just takes the edge off and I end up feeling more anxious after.

Call 911. No different than all the women on DCUM who drink their wine.

Its actually ALOT different. Much easier to function and make decisions and even wake up while on pot than alcohol. You cant even compare the two.

I wouldn't get medical marijuana unless I had a chronic illness or was dying. Otherwise, you better believe it's being flagged by your insurance. If the republicans destroy the Obamacare protections, I wonder if your lung cancer will be covered when your insurance knows you've been smoking weed?

Most people aren't smoking these days. You are stuck in a time warp grandma.

People looking for sources should try Instagram. Lots of DC events where you can find hook ups.

One glass of wine does not impair you like weed does. I would worry about diminished cognitive decisions making skills.

Actually, yes. One spouse is in recovery and the other wasn't/isn't a drinker. There is no alcohol in the house (unless you count what is in the vanilla extract used for baking).

One can consume the amount of pot that works for them. -NP

Appreciate this thread. I partake sometimes but my wife is unable to bc of the slim possibility of drug tests.

One day, a positive drug test with the caveat of 'I did it while on vacation in a legal jurisdiction' will be acceptable.
