I think part of this becoming normal is for prominent women being open about using donor eggs, etc so that it decreases the stigma of older ladies seeking reproductive assistance when they can’t just magically conceive naturally after 40. |
Well idk about you but I don't think that is realistically going to happen in the next 20-30 years. Maybe the generation that comes after our kids' gen. |
Ummm, how come no one is focusing ont he fact that she got pregnant by JAMES BOND.
I had no idea my favorite librarian was packing such heat in the male partner department. |
And Amal Clooney did it! And Geena Davis. Halle Berry. Gwen Stefani. Tina Fey. Salma Hayek, Celine Dion. Nicole Kidman. Janet Jackson.

Many of these women were late 30s/early 40s when they had their children. |
What's amusing to me is all the women harping that you need marry, get laid, and have all those kids before your eggs dry up. Five years ago - everyone said that age was 35. Then it became 40. Now suddenly - its 'oh 45 is the line dear, you'll never have kids'. It's almost like, *gasp*, medical breakthroughs happen every day. |
they have been together for a while; it's not news. but i am surprised how little attention/reporting is there regarding this couple (as opposed to brangelina, aniston etc). |
I think their natural fan constituency skewed older from the beginning; you gotta capture the teens and 20-somethings in your youth to get to Brangelina level. |
damn. see, I didn't know she was with him. Do they have other kids? |
|
And Amal Clooney did it! -- 39
And Geena Davis. don't know her age, but donor egss is my guess. Halle Berry. the only surprise i believe. Gwen Stefani. donor egg. Tina Fey. frozen embryo. Salma Hayek, IVF Celine Dion. IVF -- a well-known journey Nicole Kidman. surrogate. frozen embryo is my guess. Janet Jackson. donor. |
I had no idea honestly. And they've been married for 6 years. Perhaps because - A) He spends a lot of his time in the UK and avoiding the media and B) Her career is nowhere near what Angelina and Aniston's is. I just found out they bought a New York townhouse. Hmm. |

I have a couple more years with my current mirena. I turn 41 next month. My ob/gyn said she'd give me one more, which gets me to 47. HOPEFULLY I'll be well past child-bearing by then.
But we thought we couldn't have one naturally after 3.5 years of unexplained secondary infertility in our 30s, and our happy little surprise IS here, so I put nothing past mother nature. |
weisz acted in a number of big movies and has an oscar. she is an A lister for sure - certainly comparable to aniston and not much behind angie. and he is a james bond vs. justin what's his name. |
Okay, fair enough re Weisz. I just thought she would blow up after the Mummy and it feels more like she blew down. Not unlike that woman from the Titanic. *clears throat* Anyway in regards to Aniston, sexist I know, but no one is thinking of Theroux - she's always in comparison to Brad Pitt...you know, before Angie stole him and bred his lights out. |
| I'm 46 and my doctor recently refused to put in another IUD because she said it was incredibly unlikely for someone my age to get pregnant without significant help. Like 0.0001%. I said, "I could beat those odds. It would be just my luck." Not because I'd want to, but because I feel like I'm stupidly fertile. Now I'm too paranoid to have sex. I'd be that 0.0001%. |
