Advanced Academic Programs (AAP)
| Our DD is in: 96, 98, 99 (math). |
| My son got in but I’m a bit confused about the scores. His were 97,100 and 99. I didn’t think there was such a thing as 100th percentile?? Wonder why they don’t give the SIS scores, too. It doesn’t matter but just wondering. |
Was he accepted? |
| Can we email the office to ask for details on the sis/essay?? |
|
For the last two PP's:
- The poster who stated her DS got 99/100/57 did say that he got in - ie: accepted - TJ does Not give any feedback on the SIS/Essay - only the scores on the First Round tests |
Yes that pp said "our son got in" |
| Our kid got accepted and score was 98,99,83(math)..thanks to all for sharing and good luck to kids... |
. Probably not numbered-and if WL your chances are great-they have said most of the entire waitlist was admitted in prior years on numberous threads-just a longer wait until July! |
-100 |
To this PP-what level math was your child in (Geometry etc) and did they do a lot of STEM extracurriculars? Just trying to figure out if some amazing EC made up for the low-ish math score.... |
|
DD is in! 97 in Quant-Q, 94 Reading, 99 Science. DD is torn about whether to go to TJ or an IB program in our school district.
The website says that the percentiles are for TJ applicants, not nationally normed. Other stats -- 15% overall admittance rate this year, just over 40% of finalists got in. |
He is taking Geometry now, and straight A’s in MS. I don’t think he has exceptional STEM EC”s, But he has done well in science fairs and went to VJAS last year |
|
^^^Thanks for this-my oldest didn’t get in but have another kid who is more talented in math coming up the pipeline so trying to figure it out!
And to my understanding-the Quant Q percentiles are TJ applicants only while Readibg and Science are nationally Normed by the Aspire. |
| Remember admission is not based just on the initial test scores. The second stage had so many other factors including SIS and recommendations. |
