Embarrassed by trashy in laws

Look, you fell love with your spouse and wanted to marry him. Nothing has changed, and your in-laws were like this when you met them. It's fine not to like them and to distance yourself, but it is what it is. It's not going to change.

Maybe try being a bit more open-minded toward them. People without college degrees can be very smart and accomplished. Perhaps they feel you're judging them. My mom is one of the smartest people I know and doesn't have a college degree. It hasn't stopped her from teaching herself to be an IT professional all on her own and being an elected official. You need to look at your own biases here a bit, too.
