Seriously? Only one K spot!?! They did they even pretend to open up to 5 year old if they were only accepting one student! So upsetting to put hope into getting in when there wasn't even a slim chance in the first place.

I was at the live lottery today as well and my pk3 kiddo got a number in the high 70s. The guy said this was a good number since they got to around 100 on the list last year.
I'm skeptical that anyone with a number in the 70s (or 60s) or above will get a spot. Thoughts?

They only said they would back fill any openings at K, not create new seats. Whether anyone got in at K was dependent on how many PK4 students decided not to re-enroll.

That said, there may be PreK4 people who leave over the summer, or get in to other schools in the MSDC lottery. If your lottery number was high enough, you could still get in.

I wouldn't hold my breath. Since they don't participate in My School DC the list doesn't get "cleaned" of students that prefer another school more and get matched there. It is hard to say how far they will go in their list, and the historical data isn't available like it is for MSDC schools.

i think 60s and 70s sounds right. The list can move fast if they hit a run of kids who decline or have left town. It's very hard to say, though.

Or declin or transfer because they realize the school's admin has really bungled this latest criminal and PR issue

OP here. Thank you everyone! It will be interesting to see if there is more movement in all of the waiting lists this year because of the new administration.

You remember when Beauvoir found child porn on a teacher's camera AND let him leave before the police got there. Beauvior had EVIDENCE that a teacher was abusing their students.
