I wouldn't wait a week longer. See if you can get it moved up or see an OB GYN or GI doctor before that. You need help ASAP. |
Are you real? The support you are getting here won't do you any good. You need medical help!! |
| Isn't there a mediator, or a administrator that oversees the threads? I came here for support until I can get into my doctor's office! I didn't come here looking for a diagnosis. I understand this is not good that is why I am posting here. No, I am not dumb, yes I am real. I cannot believe some of the replies. To the people who gave me advise as to possibilities I truly do appreciate it. To everyone else please just leave this thread alone. I'm stressed out enough going through this. I thought this is This Thread was labeled for health and Medicine. Well I came here with a health concern comma question. |
| I apologize for the errors my phone is acting up right now. |

You just sound more like a troll with every post, OP. Turning to a forum for support? C'mon. You've had these symptoms for some time obviously, but you want to wait until March 1st? Are you nuts? This is an emergency situation. Either make your doctor aware of that or go to the ER. But stop posting here. Even if someone had similar symptoms, it's no guarantee you will receive the exact same diagnosis.
The fact that you have symptoms similar to those of a very serious cancer, and the fact that you aren't taking it seriously, all lead me to believe you are making this up. When I posted on DCUM about some weird abdominal pain, and the consensus was that it was an ER worthy visit, I went, and the doctors found several huge tumors in my abdomen. This isn't something you wait on, because every single day you wait, the worse the situation can get. You're an adult. You have a brain. Use it. |
Yes, there is an administrator. No, he doesn't moderate every thread. This is what the Internet is. You don't get on an anonymous forum expecting every single person to fawn over you. You will get replies you don't like. That's life. That's part of posting on the Internet. If you can't handle it, report your original post and ask for it to be deleted. Otherwise, expect to get ripped apart for sitting back and posting online when you could be on your way to the ER to get a real diagnosis. |
| I actually do agree with your last statement. However, I have tried to make my daughter aware of the situation, but they keep insisting that that is the earliest they can get me in. As far as a visit to the emergency room I have not been to one since I was a child. Flat out link I just do not get sick. Beside that, an emergency room it's just going to assess the not in an emergency. Obviously it is not an emergency, because it is not in a cute thing it is chronic meaning it didn't happen overnight we're talking a month span. Is that explanation enough? No, I would never ever make something like this up as a matter fact I think I'm going to just remove myself from this thread because this is not support. |

Instead of waiting g till Mar 1 for your appt, go to a GP and use their walk in clinic (and be seen right away). They'll do blood work. No need to wait.
Most GP have walk in hours which is why I suggested it. |
| ^doctor^ not daughter. |
| Thank you. Ironically as of yesterday I started thinking about walking into a walk-in clinic. I think that probably is the best idea. For those who have helped me to include yourself I truly do appreciate it, and I will update and let you know what the outcome is. Again I appreciate all positive responses. In seriously someone would have to be extremely sick in their head to ever make anything like this up. So, I can assure you I am not a troll, or making this up. |
You literally sound brainless! So you haven't been to the ER since you were a child, what's your point? That's not an excuse to not go to the ER now. They'll run your bloodwork, get you in for an MRI, and do whatever else you need to figure out wtf is wrong with you. Just because it didn't happen overnight, again, is not an excuse to go to the ER. So no, your answers are not explanation enough. I feel bad for anyone (including myself) who has wasted their time here giving you honest feedback and advice. You aren't looking for support. (And no, you don't turn to an anonymous internet forum for support, that's not how it works. You should've known you'd get positive AND negative responses. Welcome to the internet.) |
| Call your dr every morning and see if they have any cancellations. Consider going to an urgent care clinic and get looked at there. Just because you don't normally go to the doctor doesn't mean it's not appropriate now. You need medical care. Don't let the troll accusations get to you - that's par for the course all over DCUM. |
OP, I know you're scared and upset, but please understand that people ARE trying to be helpful by telling you to go to the emergency room if you can't get in faster to see the Dr. You have lost 20 lbs in a month. That is serious. Something that progresses that much in a month is acute. It really is. Maybe you could try an urgent care center if you aren't comfortable going to the emergency room. Please take care of yourself! |
Actually, moderated forums with registered usernames are indeed often good places for support. DCUM does not represent the whole internet. I love this place, but it can indeed be unnecessarily nasty, as evidenced by this post. |
|
OP--I get it. You are almost never sick and have been brought up/trained yourself to stoically wait things out. So you are feeling miserable in doing that and asking for support. We are telling you you need a doctor at this point, not us. Go to an urgent care today that is reasonably well equipped (like has an XRay machine) and let us know how it goes.
But FYI given the severity of the symptoms, an ER would not turn you away or reprimand you for using their services. And if it were a reasonably advanced one, they might be able to make some good progress in getting to the bottom of this. |
