+1. This is like the D-list of candidates. |
Every time an unacceptable nominee is confirmed because it was not possible filibuster the nomination, blame Harry Reid and the other Democrats who voted for the nuclear option. All the Democrats with the exception of three senators supported passage of the nuclear option and there was not a single Republican who supported it.
Say a big thank you to Harry Reid for leading the charge: ![]() |
Conservative Republicans are elated with the selections ......... |
Racism, sexism and Islamnophobia is endemic, if not celebrated. Then you have the criminals who received waivers. Good stuff. |
And Senate Democrats were just supposed to sit politely while Republicans refused to take up confirmation of almost every nominee. |
No, they did what they felt needed to be done ..... and now they can live with the consequences. There is a reason why the filibuster has survived for so many years: most senators realized that fortunes could change down the line and they wanted to preserve their right to block appointments. Heck, Reid was already talking about eliminating the filibuster for Supreme court appointments because he assumed Hillary would win. |
God, I know, right? Educated people have no business making policy. Goddamn hippy thinkers with their ability to read and write, they piss me off! Give me a good high school - no, wait - middle school graduate and put them in the highest office you can find for them. I don't like balance or thinking, either! /s You Rs sure fear education. |
Really? Why don't you tell us all the names of all the people Obama nominated who had no experience whatsoever working on the issues they were nominated to be in charge of? Or of those associated with neo-nazi fake news sites? Or of those who push conspiracy theories on twitter? And have you not been reading all the posts by Democrats/liberals saying please god let the SOS be Mitt Romney because he is the only sane person on the list? And did you not know that Obama picked as a replacement for Scalia a moderate whom just about every Republican senator years before had said was an example of a good moderate SCOTUS nominee?? But because it was Obama nominating him, the white boys of the senate thought they could teach that president a lesson and refuse to consider him. |
You tell us who you think warranted praise in Obama's cabinet first and then I'll tell you who I think warrants it among Trump's list. |
Our government and nation aren't a game. There were no conspiracy theorists or syncophantic billionaire dilettantes. |
Agreed. |
As a liberal, I will say the majority of his appointments are sane and many are qualified. I don't like their political philosophy in some instances but that is neither here nor there because like it or not, Trump won the election and he made it abundantly clear that he was going to appoint conservatives. I am surprised at quite how conservative some of them are but that is his right. Most will sail through because quite frankly the Republicans control the senate and there are several Democrats who are shit scared they will be voted out of office in 2018 and are likely to support confirmation. And since there is no filibuster - thanks to Reid and the Democrats - there should be no stumbling blocks. |
Be kind. Million poster has a severe case of multiple personality disorder (all of them sociopaths). |
Just remember, that Obama's cabinet were picked by a guy at Citibank a month before the election in '08.
Managing people and demanding results is a skill that, as much as I can't stand Trump, I think he has. |
Dr Ben Carson is NOT a crazy person, dr jill biden probably is, but that's another story. You are angry, it shows and you are one of those people who will never get over HER loss. Too bad, pop another xanax and sit back, it's going to be a bumpy ride for you. ![]() |
