If that happens, you hyperventilating liberals can thank us second amendment nuts for protecting your behinds from the tyranny of such a government.

Seriously, can you hear yourself?

Yes, if the military plans a coup I'll be delighted that the yahoo who ran into Comet Ping Pong with his guns is still locked and loaded. Perhaps there are more would be school shooters who could first use their assault rifles against the Secretary of Labor.

Perhaps he's tired of your people who don't know how to get things done.

Obama passes Obamacare and insures 20 million additional people, which was huge and horrific but also not getting things done? You can't have it both ways, either you can say that the Dems get nothing done, or they get a lot done that you don't like. The food here is awful and the portions too small!

And, if you think having generals as part of the cabinet equates to a military coup, you have little respect for what members of the military can bring to the government.
These folks are disciplined, knowledgeable, patriotic, and have incredible work ethics.

Couldn’t be more pleased.

If veterans are so wonderful why do we have to give them preference for all federal jobs, wouldn't they just get them anyways since they are so superior to non-vets? Some of our veteran applicants are functionally illiterate, but they sure do love America.

How many countries where the military has taken over democratically elected governments turned them into military dictatorships? Yrump would love to have a coronation not an inaugiration. A lot
With the ultra conservative FBI, CIA and ex rabid generals, thank God for a few liberals.

Their patriotisn scares the hell out of me.

I like patriotism. It is weird that Okinawa is handed back to Japanese at or near Pearl Harbor Day.

Still not one appointment or nomination that any liberal feels warrants praise?

If Mitt gets State I will be less afraid for the future of our species.

I hope Romney refused because Trump will make him his new laptop dog to replace Christie.

I am still waiting for the other shoe to drop from Christie. Like Trump Christie also gets even.

The DHS guy seems like he might be ok. The problem is the generals are least ideological appointees he has (Flynn aside) but having too many is not great.

Trump said so many things that it was impossible to know what he was for, but his cabinet appointments look very much like Ted Cruz's would, which I think is disappointing to some people who thought he'd appoint fewer right wing ideologues. Also, Ben Carson himself said he was completely unqualified to run a federal agency, but a few weeks later there he is.
Flynn is just a disaster as NSA-- completely irresponsible, no sense of judgment or willingness to listen.

If it does scare you, you probably got a B- in your non-AP government class.

+1

Funny, the libs think too many generals are a problem, but had no problem with all the Ivies represented in the Obama administration.

I don't understand the rationale for this: of course, Trump has been selecting conservatives for the most part who would not be the choice of liberals. But this is not any different than when Obama selected his cabinet or Supreme Court nominations - he selected individuals who shared his political philosophy.

Are there any nominations or appointments by Trump that liberals feel represent qualified individuals even if they don't agree with their conservative leanings?

These aren't normal picks. A bunch of Generals and a bunch of Billionaires. most of them with no administrative experience, and a few picks are outright racists.

There has been quite a bit of condemnation from conservatives as well. They are lousy crony capitalist picks no matter what your ideology is.

Exactly. Thank you.

There is something seriously wrong with both of you.

Most Republicans can't even find any genuine praise for most of them. Fake praise here and there, yes and naive praise here and there, yes - but any Republicans with functioning brains are horrified at the freakshow Cabinet that Trump and Pence are building.

Trump has the right to nominate anyone he wants and it is subject to advise and consent of the senate.

The fact that some of his nominations are very conservative and don't appeal to liberals is irrelevant. Remember: elections have consequences.

Democrats by using the nuclear option in 2013 prevents filibusters when it comes to confirmation of Trump's appointments. The moral: when one takes a step like eliminating the filibuster it may come back to bite one in the ass - and this is precisely what has happened in this instance.
