And this makes a difference how? Again, the school services many areas - from suburban to rural. Most are w/in a stone's throw of each other. If the rapist had been in Sandy Spring he could have traveled easily - by foot - into Olney. Booke Grove ES is in Olney; that's where patrol cars were stationed. It doesn't matter. That's my point. If there's a suspect, the police should have shared a description. If it had been a minor raping a minor, that's another story. And that's my guess - that we're dealing with two teens here. And that's why the cops are being silent. |
|
We don't know whether the police have interviewed the victim yet. They are "working to confirm a description." The very little that's been released could have been details the girl told to her parents, and they in turn told police.
|
Maybe that lack of details is owing to the police department respecting the girl's need for privacy, which is inherently linked to her safety? To the "something fishy" poster and those of her/his ilk: you are swine. I feel sorry for everybody in your life that has to suffer your worthlessness. |
|
^^^What?
Saying where it happened and describing the suspect (just tell us the color of his skin and if he was young/old, short/tall) has nothing to do with the victim's privacy...it has to do with public safety. |
No, you're just nosy. And you're pretending to have a lofty moral basis for being a busybody. |
Because the poster questioned the details, s/he is now worthless? lol There were gaps, which made people question why there was no description of the alleged rapist. If it were an adult she knew, then I can see why they'd keep it quiet. If it were a minor - perhaps a classmate, they would silence it - at least for now. But if some man raped her and is running around Olney or Brookeville now - or beyond - we should know the description, don't you think? more eyes on him So yes, something is up. |
The rate of rapes classified as unfounded in MoCo is astronomically high compared to most places in the country. It indicates that there are plenty of rapists roaming free. I don't need potentially identifying details about the rape of a child to feel safe in my community. |
You are crazy, pp. I actually live in the area and my daughter goes to Sherwood. I most certainly think the community should be told who to be on the lookout for. Plenty of time has passed, and no info has been released. |
really? We live in one of the "outer" neighborhoods. So while we're not miles and miles away, we're far enough to make me think the rapist would not come out our way. If I were closer in (and we were in James Creek), I'd be worried. And yes, I'd want to know what he looked like. If he's not identified, he has a better chance of raping multiple women. But that's OK, right? b/c you feel safe |
The point is that no one need speak to you to direct you to place where they can assault you. |
Maybe he pointed his gun or knife at her and then at the grassy area. Duh. |
Duh? Are you 12, child? They would have mentioned a weapon. The victim would have said something. |
| New poster here, what is really weird about this is the lack of description and the vague references to a verbal command to go somewhere. These stories usually include a description of some sort and certainly would mention if a weapon was used. I'm not saying I believe her I don't believe her but it's just really weird the way the authorities are handling this . |
| If the police did not include a basic description of the suspect it means that they are dubious about the whole episode. |
On what evidence do you base this stupid conjecture? |
